It is great for travel, but does leave a film. Remedy? Use an apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards. No problem.

Absolutely amazing shampoo bar!! I can't say enough about how wonderful it is. I use it as a shampoo, a complexion bar, a shaving bar, and a body bar. I have thick, coarse hair, past my shoulders. It had been damaged by nearly 25 years of chemical dye which left my hair like straw...very dry and brittle. Since making the switch to CV shampoo bars, my hair is soft, silky (for realllll...silky) and much healthier. I have tried nearly every shampoo bar CV makes and love them all, but I think I've finally settled on this one as my favorite. If you have never tried a shampoo bar and are thinking about it, I would suggest a quick visit to their website for a lot of fantastic information about using them and what to expect. Never in a million years did I think I'd LOVE a shampoo bar and decide to stop using standard shampoo from a bottle. Never in a million years would I have believed that a bar is all I would need...no conditioner needed either...it's crazy, but true. And my hair is in the best shape it's been in in a very long time. The damage is almost all gone. I'm cutting a little off at a time to completely rid my head of all the damage, but my hair looks and feels amazing. Try it...stick with it. Read about shampoo bars and don't give up. It is so worth it!

I've been collecting various types of Chagrin shampoo bars and love this one as much as the others. My hair has been thinning dramatically and has become drier along the length (below bra strap to waist, depending) and this bar does condition well without being at all goopy or sticky on my hair afterwards. The water in my area is about 9- so pretty hard! if that helps. Typically I wash my hair in the tub and "mermaid" rinse, sometimes with ACV or citric acid rinse but not always.I do wish there were NO plastic in the packaging, though- glued paper band to secure the 2 bars, a bit of waxed paper to protect from humidity / damp in storage and shipping would do the trick... I found an old Auburn henna bar of theirs in the bottom of a travel bag in the bathroom closet recently- had to be 5 years old! and it was fine. And my area is HUMID, & the bathroom has no fan (historic home).Another plus: they're local-ish ( other end of Ohio).

I wanted to live a lifestyle with minimal exposure to plastic and I searched high and low for a shampoo/conditioner that was truly plastic free. I found the idea of shampoo bars really unappealing until I gave it a try. I love that it still lathers like shampoo and it does leave my hair well nourished. I'm a big fan. The only thing I should say is make sure you are covering all of your hair (I have long hair and I've occasionally missed spots with this shampoo bar - nothing is worse than discovering there is still grease in your hair after it's dry) and make sure to rinse it out as well as you can afterwards. And it saves me time because it's a 2-in-1 and I live in a really rural area with only a few minutes of hot shower water. I know it may not be great for other hair types, but my hair is long and relatively thin and highlighted/color treated and gets greasy fast and this thing does the job wonderfully. I use it 3x weekly with each shower.

I ordered a two pack and can’t even use the first bar. I tried to let my hair get used to it but it just felt super filmy and looked filmy. I had to rewash with something else to get the hair clean from the film of this soap. I have tried two other brands of bar shampoo and really liked them. Doesn’t smell good either, it has a strange smell.

I've been using this shampoo bar for about a month and love it! Before trying this brand, I was using another brand that I discovered was imported from another country. Nothing against imports, but I'm trying to reduce my carbon footprint.My hair is noticeably softer to the touch when I use a bar shampoo. I'm still figuring out how often to use the ACV rinse, but I'm very pleased with the bar. The best part of using a bar shampoo is that I need fewer haircare products. Before I was using a daily conditioner, deep conditioner, spray-in detangler, volumizing gel, and oil. Now I used the ACV rinse and the oil. I did have a few days of very staticky hair when I switched to this brand, but that's passed.

This is by far my favorite shampoo to date...I can't wait to try the BEER, Egg, and Honey shampoo. It gets hair (and beard) clean with out all of the chemicals that strip hair. As for scent, I can't really say...I don't pay that much attention/ I have heard people new to natural shampoos complain that the hair feels dry after washing, and I will admit that it does, but once it dries, the softness returns. If you are trying this for the first time, just remember it is NATURAL, and you are not using industrial solvents to wash, or silicates for "conditioning". I use a Fractionated Coconut Oil after washing for added conditioning. If you want to get away from the toxins and are trying to be as healthy and natural as possible, I highly recommend this shampoo.

Amazing!! I have had hair loss after shampooing my entire life, I thought it was just normal. Over the years my hair had gone from thick and long, to very thin and brittle. After trying a range of organic and bar shampoos, this is a first product ever that doesn't make my hair fall out... At all!! My hair is slowly getting thicker and shiny again ... This is life changing for me!
