The wood is quite nice, but has been treated with something that smells horrible! The brass Dachshund/Duck top is solid brass, but doesn’t look like either a dachshund or a duck. The neck bit of the brass head has a very sharp metal bur left that could cut your hand; I’ll be filing this down. The end of the stick which contacts the ground is just a nailed on (NB not screwed, as was shown in the item images on Amazon) piece of cheap rubber and will have to be replaced if this is to be used as a walking stick.

This arrived when specified. It wasn't expensive and you get what you pay for so I wasn't surprised it wasn't very well made. The rubber boot came off the first time my husband used it and the dog head looks more like a duck! However, it is sturdy enough to help him balance.

I was very surprised at the speed with which the stick arrived ~ apparently fro Uttar Pradeshand also how easy it was to put the whole thing togetherMy only "downside" comment is that i feel that the producer could have finished the tip with a slightly more substantial grommetI have added my own rubber brommet to complete the whole thing ~ VERY GOOD value and service

The top where the handle screwed on is a poor finish and very flimsy
