Good quality book. Kids live it

Great quality as always, but 3 stars given purely because later that day, I checked their website and they had these on sale, over half price so pretty annoyed and I have to pay £4 to return to Amazon to get my refund. With all that hassle, not worth it. Definitely won't buy on here in a hurry.

I usually love Arteza products, but on this occasion I am disappointed. The paper is heavyweight enough for pens not to bleed through, however the outlines of the drawings are a faded grey colour rather than black so they are not as sharp as I would like. Some of the pictures have tiny detail which is fine working with fine liners but not as good for pencils or brush pens. I do like that you can take out the pages to colour individually though rather than in the book.

I own a large collection of colouring books including several copies of Angie Grace, Millie Marotta, Johanna Basford, Jade Summer etc. so I have a good base for comparison and expectations when it comes to a good colouring book. This boo is super disappointing. As you can see on the photo it is very small. I put it next to a standard sized Coca Cola can to give you an idea of the size. The pages are sturdy and thick however the images are drawn with a slightly thick or very thin light grey lines. Because the book is so small the majority of the images which have very fine details are practically minuscule and extremely difficult to see. But if you enjoy colouring with a magnifying glass then this book is for you.It’s a shame really. If the book would be reprinted in a size as big as the standard Angie Grace books and the images were printed with thin, even black lines then it would be a good book.

These books are a great size, I love that they are square and, when you fold the cover over, they sit nicely on your leg for comfy colouring. Being square, they can be turned around for filling in different areas easily.However, the paper is not great quality. Using my beautiful Faber-Castell polychromos pencils, I had to press on pretty hard to get good colour coverage. Even then, there are sometimes small areas which will not take the pigment. Also, using a black fineliner marker bleeds through the paper to the pattern underneath. If compared to something like a Johanna Basford colouring book the quality is pretty poor.I do like the mandala patterns though, I may have to see if they will take paint. I wish I hadn't bought a duo set; the floral patterns are not good.I don't think I would buy Arteza products again.

This pack is called doodle designs but has the same doodles as the doodle illustration pack despite different covers. The only differance being this one has silvery grey colour outline while the illustration pack has black outlines. I have found bold colours work better with black outlines as you can loose some of the details with this pack. Pastel colour markers work well with both packs. The photo on the left is from this pack and one on right with black from the doodle illustration pack.
