LED Flashlight by Bell and Howell with Free 9-Volt Battery (4)

I bought some BlockLites awhile back, and they were great - very bright. But when I bought more, I found the brightness and build quality was very disappointing. All those went back. I still wanted more small 9V lights though, and when I read the reviews for these MicroBrites, I decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed! They are GREAT - just as bright as my original BlockLites, and the switches have a positive click. I've never had one turn on accidentally in my pocket, either. The only weird thing is they would not clip on to the supplied 9V heavy-duty batteries, but no matter - I have a bunch of 9V alkalines and prefer those anyway. Pro tip: a single wrap of electrical tape linking the MicroBrite (below the switch) to the battery will keep it all together more securely in the purse, backpack or pocket. I carry one in my pocket all the time now. It's an essential for reading tiny print with old eyes!

I had to buy a new pack of Duracells to attach before I gave these as gifts or stashed in packs or glove boxes, but they are so handy to have that I’ll forgive it.

Ever wonder what to do with all those expensive 9 volt batteries after replacing them in the smoke detectors? Here's your answer. Used as a night light, this light will brighten a whole room, and can be left on all night, every night. It uses very little charge, and when it eventually dims, change batteries and come back later to the one that dimmed, as it will regroup its charge. Small enough to fit in almost any pocket, even a key pocket.Bright enough to read by, but not recommended as your best choice for that. I hope they will one day develop a focused beam 9 volt for distance use.

First, I love the look. It has a minimalist functional beauty that is pretty cool. The slide switch is really secure. It won't turn on by accident. And it is recessed. The light will lay flat even with the switch side positioned down. Virtually all other flashlights are round. I can set this on a table and it stays put. The light grips the battery securely and they won't separate. As is the case with any LED based flashlight, it throws off a lot of light. I have not had it long enough to assess battery life but my guess is that one battery will last a long time. I will update my review if I learn otherwise.

All four packages were unopened, so it's a bit of a mystery why three of the batteries work and one was just about dead.

I keep a half dozen or so of these at home at all times. I give these out to friends and repairmen who come to my home. They're all astounded and nobody's ever seen them before but they love being able to stick it in their pocket so it's there and ready when needed!!

I received these lights with much anticipation after reading some good reviews. do yourself a favor and buy a real flashlight and don't waste your money on this junk. its just a novelty but not work the money

These lights work surprisingly well for the price. One of the 4 that I received had a defect and the vendor shipped me a replacement immediately.
