National Geographic Kids Readers: Cats vs. Dogs

3 stars is because I was expecting a big book but it's a small book. Otherwise the photos and content is good. Lots of interesting facts . But this is for elementary grades. My 9 year old finished it in 15 min

Smaller book but perfect for younger readers. My 10 year old loves animals so this was a great gift!

My grandson has two cats and I have two cats myself so this book was the cutest As well as informational. I must admit we both learned a few unknown details about cats as well as dogs, so it was quite enjoyable.

National Geographic Kids books are great. The illustrations and photographs are amazing and the information they provide is set up in a way that keeps your children engaged and interested. They have small paragraphs and pop out boxes of facts over beautiful photographs and illustrations, instead of just a boring block of text. My girls love them and we have amassed quite a collection.This particular book is about the differences between Cats and Dogs. I love how this book is set up. You get facts on a particular subject about cats and then the corresponding facts about dogs, and then a winner is declared. For example, a dogs relatives are wolves, coyotes and jackals, while a cats relatives are lions, tigers and leopards with the clear winner being cats. They also compare diets, senses and behavior among other things. A really cool way of presenting the information. My 6 year old loves learning the facts and reading the books while my 3 year old loves the pictures. My 6 year old's kindergarten teacher has suggested more non-fiction books and these are perfect.We have purchased many of the National Geographic Kids books for our collection and they are a big hit in our house. There are so many different books with various subjects that will appeal to any kid. These are highly recommended. If you haven't already, do your kids a favor and start their collection today.

Purchased this for my 5 year old, kindergarten grandson. He loves it and finds it readable with minimal help required.
