Aquabeads are a favorite thing at my house. The kids use the templates sometimes or get creative making their own. The nice thing about them is it doesn't matter what shape or set the beads or designs are from, they all work together. You can use round beads where stars go, doesn't matter. All the sets can be combined. There is a little learning curve when it comes to how much water to spray. Small children usually have the most trouble with this, they want to over-spray their project until the beads are so soaked they melt into each other making the design look less than appealing. If water logged the colors on the beads will run just like water based markers and the beads will start to lose shape. Just spray until wet, not soaked, and allow to dry. We try to let the designs dry for several hours, big ones over night. Lots of good colors and fun designs in this kit.

We really had a lot of fun with these. Our 7 and 8-year-old are homeschooled so we love activities like this to help them experience this type of fun. Excellent quality and great bang for our buck.

This is a basic refill set - there is no container and no bead pen. However there is 1 clear tray, a spray bottle, the two piece display stand and connector pieces as well as beads (regular, gemstone and star shaped).These are so much fun and my five and six year old really enjoy creating things with the aquabeads! So this Enchanted World set with things like a rainbow, Pegasus, fairy and gobblins were a big hit.I love that there are over 1,000 beads in 41 different colors - so many choices! There are also star shaped beads which are quiet nice. There is no bead pen in this set.You will simply lay your paper down and then place the clear tray on top of it. I typically use washi tape to keep it in place as my children are smaller and this just makes it a bit easier! Once done fill the small spray bottle which is included with water and spray your creation, Wait 60 minutes and flip your creation and then spray again and wait an additional 60 minutes. From there it is done!This set did not include a peeler but a butter knife or fork will work just fine.As far as price goes - This is just as pricey as the sets that include a storage container except here they are giving you a display stand which is really just two pieces that clip together - so it is not very impressive.

This reminds me of those beads you assemble in to patterns then iron to hold together, except instead of an iron, you just use a spray of water and they 'melt' together. My daughter had a lot of fun with the set- and made several items, some were from the included guide, others were 'freestyle'.Would make a GREAT gift.

They little magic beads when get wet mold together. My 6 year old loves it and makes little characters. We used little bags to put them in once we opened them up.

Fun project. I ordered it as a “quiet activity” for my daughter to do after we came home from the hospital with our newborn. However, the directions say you have to leave it for an hour to dry! It does actually take longer than that. So you have a small child building 1 project at a time then having to wait for an hour to touch it again. If I’d known that, I would’ve ordered the kind that uses an iron instead.

This is a fun set, my daughter loves creating with it.
