Great purchase
This knife is awesome, I was looking for a dependable and good looking knife to use when hunting and just out and about in the outdoors. It's good looking and feels great in my hand. I looks like a great knife, and it performs like a great knife. 5 stars!

The sheath is made of good quality leather and machine stitched
The sheath is made of good quality leather and machine stitched. The color is a dark brown, not quite black. Two things I don't like: First, the stitching on the belt loop is only decorative, serves no purpose and weakens the leather's edge where you want strength. Second, the loop sewn into the seem on the sheath; I presume this is for a sharpening steel/rod. For one thing it's located too high on the sheath, if I kept a sharpener there it would be in the way of the handle; if inserted from the bottom it may fall out. It should be mid way down the sheath to be serviceable. I would remove mine if it didn't make the sheath look uglier than it does with it. Would be best just to omit it, a sharpening steel/rod is useless for this type of knife anyway. It takes away from the clean look the sheath would naturally have. The knife is made well, feels quick and light in the hand even for it's size it has a decent edge and sharp point. The wood grain on the handle is very straight end to end, not like any burlwood I've ever seen...so that's questionable. Also the spine and belly of the blade/handle has been polished to remove the black oxide coating that's on the rest of the blade. I don't understand why they would do this and leave bare metal where a dirty sweaty hand will be when the rest of the blade is protected...? Makes no sense, extra work for no purpose- like the rod loop on side of sheath and belt loop stitching.Hey Buck N Bear, no one is buying this knife because it has a sharpening rod loop on the sheath.....I have collected knives for over forty years and I also make knives. I am also an Army infantry vet.Overall, it's good knife and sheath; worth the money, but I feel it's priced at it's maximum level though.

"best hunting" knife!?!?
It is sad how sellers try to sell you whatever! WHERE that "best" came from? What kind of hunting you plan to do with that? jump on the deer or beer or elk and stub it? skinning? Ha Ha! Di you EVER skin the deer? You need relatively short (4-5") knife with GOOD belly and smooth drop point. However if you like guts taste/smell... or well ventilated skin with holes... go ahead and take it to the woods for hunting.I HOPE that steel is ok, so I give it 2 stars for the blade material.May be butchering!? Did anybody used it on 1 deer without sharpening?

Overall Great Purchase
I was a bit worried when I first bought this knife, reason being the last few knives made in Pakistan I purchased were made from incredibly low quality materials (knives bent and snapped during first use), despite the fact the desc. listed them as being made from 1095 steel, carbon steel, etc. Thankfully, BucknBear was honest about the quality. It was delivered way before the expected time, came boxed and padded, and covered with a light layer of oil. Had to sharpen it a bit, which is understandable considering it is a weapon/tool. The only issues I have with this knife are:1) The knife came with a scratch in the black coating (don't really care, though. it was most likely going to get a scratch or two anyway from constant use)and 2) The sheath is much brighter in color than what the photo depicts (again, I could care less. as long as it does its job, I'm fine)Now I just need to find a left-handed sheath to go with it.Great purchase.
