This Oat Hay is so amazing, and they even left us a surprise!
My rabbits are incredibly picky, and Viking Farmer products are their all time favorite. I load my rabbits hay each night before bed, and there often is no trace there was hay in there at all. They gobbled all up. My bunnies also love their Timothy pellets when they are available. This hay is kind of a treat. It has tons of the seeds my bunnies love, while also having a minimal amount the big, fibrous, yellow stems they dislike. This hay is so good, my rabbits eat those stems too. Now, on to the surprise! As we were finishing up the last bits of the oat hay, I found something very unexpected-- a golden Easter egg full of pellets! It made not only my day, but my bunnies too! What a funny, lovely, awesome thing for Viking Farmer to do š

Not one of my three rabbits will eat this particular hay, despite consuming other hay often
Providing clean, fresh hay and plenty of clean water is crucial to rabbit's health and prevents hairballs. None of my three former shelter rabbits (different ages/breeds/genders/sizes) will eat this hay at all. It was offered repeatedly, and the choice not to eat it was independently made, as it was offered to each in a separate setting, where they consume lots of Oxbow western timothy hay daily. The concern I have about this hay is that some rabbit owners may feed this as the sole hay and not realize their rabbit is not eating it....resulting in a low fiber intake and a higher risk of hairballs, which can be deadly in rabbits. In theory oat hay is good...but that theory works only if the hay is eaten. My rabbits all repeatedly declined to eat any of this hay.

Rabbit loves it, but moths!
Our rabbit is supper picky, and loves this hay. The quality of the hay itself seems amazing! However, I thought I was going crazy when I started noticing moths in my house in zero degree weather here. I jumped to the reviews to see if anyone else has been experiencing this too and it seems like it's a thing. I'll be reaching out to the seller next, but I wanted to let the consumer know that it's something to beware of!

Bunny loves it! ā¤ļøā¤ļø Great value!
Love opening the box and smelling the hay! Beautiful color and size. Fresh stems and little waste. Will buy only from then after trying others! Itās a good buy because our bunny eats it and very little thrown away!PS. I am ordering another 7 lb box. I have ordered 4 other brands and this one is consistently GREAT. Not packed in plastic...no mold.. our bunny loves this brand and I will never order any other. Btw...I use their pellets as a one at a time treat! Great stuff too!All their products are a great value and no twigs or sticks or other junk! *****Update: Consistently the best hay!!!! I have tried Oxbow and several others! Pebbles ONLY likes this brand of oat hay plus the lil egg with a treat inside perks his nose up quickly! NOTHING negative to say about it! Just ordered more!

Full of weeds and no response from the seller
Oat hay is a favorite but it can be hard to source sometimes. I thought I'd try something new with Viking Farmer, despite the super high price. When I had a shipping issue, I send the seller a message and he got back to me right away. But then...The oat hay itself is good and my bunnies enjoyed it. The first disappointment came in finding not just weeds, but a ton of weeds mixed in - the attached picture doesn't show all the weeds I found, that's just a handful I grabbed out of the box and separated the weeds from the hay to show how bad it was. That would have just been an annoyance, but every surface and all of the copy boast "Certified weed-free!". Oddly enough, I had actually never had an issue with weeds in hay from anywhere until I bought this hay from this company. What motivated me to write this review is that the sales pitch and the included papers really talk this guy up a lot as being so proud and engaged and, I don't know, valiant, and encourage customers to write in saying he loves feedback and he'll write you back, etc. So I sent a polite email letting him know how bad the weeds were, and he didn't respond. I waited a couple weeks and followed up - I never heard anything back.In short, I find the Viking Farmer's marketing and image braggadocious; and while great confidence is OK if followed up by delivering on your claims, that doesn't happen here. My experience was the direct opposite of two of Viking Farmer's biggest promises, and while I didn't ask for a replacement, it would have been proper for him to offer (or at least respond to me) and he could have had an occasional ongoing customer. For that price, quality, and service, though, I won't be ordering again knowing if there is any problem, the Viking Farmer won't make it right.
