Only 25% of packs 50 ties actually work
Only about 25% of the ties in the bag of 50 actually work. The other 75% have a malfunctioning head that will not grip at all due to missing gripper.

Not Exactly Serious -- Extra Light Duty Cable Ties
I use these through some existing grommets to hold the canvas cover on my gazebo. It takes about 40 of them to go all the way around. 4 broke on initial installation and I wasn't putting them under any weird angles or even pulling them tight. 3 broke during a storm with heavy winds -- can't fault those. 5 more have broken over the last few months for no apparent reason -- I just find them occasionally broken on the ground. I've seen the head break off, the tip break off, or the main body break where they were folded for shipping. In my opinion, it's a material problem more than a design problem.I also noticed that these really hold the shape they were bent to for shipping. I was afraid I was going to break them just pulling them straight. The plastic feels much more brittle than I'm used to with smaller ties. Overall, it feels like the product was packaged and then got really hot, weakening the plastic and crimping it semi-permanently into the shipped hairpin shape. I'd say the empirical average tensile strength of the package I got was probably 20-30lbs. Nowhere near the 175lbs advertised.I'll be trying another brand as I replace more fallen soldiers. 3-stars because the ones that aren't broken are successfully holding the canvas on the gazebo.Update May 2017:I got my new order in of a different brand and they're a world better. The plastic is softer -- malleable -- you can bend them without breaking them. I even tried bending one sharply in half like the review video for this one and while the plastic discolored a little, it did not break and it went back to mostly straight when released. Dropping review here to one star. I highly advise skipping these "serious ties" and getting the ones below instead: 24" Inch Black Zip Cable Ties (50 Pack), 175lb Strength Nylon Wire Ties, By Bolt Dropper.

These are my favorite zipties ever.
These are my favorite zipties ever. Over the span of 9 years I've owned 2 240SX's that have been extensively drifted. With drifting comes knocked off bumpers and zipties are used to get those things back on quick. I say this because I know a good ziptie when I see one. These are great zipties. They're big but I find myself using them in places a normal ziptie would work because I know they'll work better. I have a 75 pound pit bull who loves to chase and tug of war any piece of rope he can find. Ziptie that rope to a pipe with this tie and it'll be a month or two before he can snap it, playing with it daily. I almost hesitate to use this on my cars aero kit, the ziptie is probably stronger than the fiberglass making up my bumper. But yea they're awesome.

Long and Strong, these ties will find a way to be useful around your homestead!
I have a small farm and am constantly 'fixing' things. These super sturdy ties are long and strong and have come in handy several times already. My last 'repair' was to hang a section of 16 foot Hog Panel under my 16 foot driveway gate to keep our Australian Shepherd puppy safely in the yard. The road under the gate is a little low near the middle so I cut the panel to fill the void, but when we open the gate the ground level slopes up so the Hog Panel 'fix' had to be able to swing and have some slop to allow the gate to change directions. By loosely suspending the panel with these sturdy ties, I was able to accomplish what I wanted, a gate that could open and close easily and also security for my pooch.

Product is worth the price
This was my third purchase of this product and the quality seems to be dropping more each time. The plastic is brittle on many of the ties and breaks easily. I purchased 3 packages this time and had no less than 20 break out of 150 ties. That's really unacceptable. They're still the best value for the price but this company needs to get a handle on their quality control.

Very heavy duty ties!!
These are exactly as advertised - extra heavy duty! They are thick and very strong, strong enough to need heavy duty kitchen scissors to cut them down. I appreciated that the length of the ties is impressive and useful for many projects both indoors and outdoors. I ordered mine to secure a bedframe to a mattress foundation. Our bed is an old cast iron bed without slats so I needed to secure a foundation/box spring to the sides in order to keep a mattress on it. I used these to not only attach the foundation to the frame, but to strengthen the metal foundation so that it doesn't pull apart. I sleep easy knowing that these ties can take so much weight.

I am happy with this purchase
I am happy with this purchase. You get a lot of ties for the money and they seem to be heavy duty and stable. I have been using them outside to hold up a baby gate on the stairs. Because they are thicker it's a little hard to get them super tight. But I'd guess if you are strong and pull very hard you could get them to be very tight.

Works well to hold planters
I get some of these every year to attach some metal plant boxes to my balcony railing. The boxes are 42" long and I typically use 5-6 of these on each of them. They last the entire season without breaking. They usually last until the following year as well, but I always put new ones on just to keep everything held on well. These are easy to use and tighten up nice and strong. Haven't had one fail on my yet, and those planter are pretty heavy.
