Powerful hammer/chisel function made my life easier at work
Compact and small enough to use with one hand if need be. Primarily bought for work to use the hammer/chisel function. Did not disappoint! Plenty of power to get the job done! Using red lithium 5.0 amp hour xc batteries it chiseled through two tough spots on half a battery. Now I'm not using this for concrete hammering. I do quary work crushing rock where screen skiffs build up with frozen fines this time of year which can resemble concrete depending how built up and frozen the material gets. For my particular needs and use this product has made my job easier and quicker when it's time to knock down buildup on equipment from the fist day I brought it to work. Easy to carry around and packs a decent punch for a battery operated tool.

No cord, no problem. Power is still there!
Don’t let the fact it’s battery powered turn you away- while it does eat through the batteries faster than any of my other M18 tools it does not play around at boring through concrete or asphalt! You get about 20-22 holes out of a 3.0 battery which I think is pretty good considering what you are asking the tool to do. Not feeling like a monkey with a tail is worth it having to deal with extension cords or gas powered generators- holes get drilled just as fast as with my Milwaukee corded HD- which now that I think about it hasn’t been used since I got this one!Really- it’s that good. If you already have some M18 stuff and batteries buy this right now and don’t even think about it anymore.Also- if you are thinking now that other brands like DeWalt or Makita have “up the ante” and went to the 22-24 volt system you may need to upgrade.... I’d encourage you to test the M18 battery with a volt meter for output voltage......the original “M18” was 18 volts to be sure, the new M18 batteries that say “Red Lithium” might surprise you on a volt meter.M18 is just the name of the tool system at this point- and even though they’ve upped the volts, they still feel confident in the tools in the M18 line from 4-5 year ago (that were actually designed and rated for 18 volts) to still say the new Red Lithium batteries are compatible with the older M18 tools.Milwaukee is killing it out here cordless!

A BEAST
I purchased this after the company issued an old 20+ lb corded Bosch to drill holes for concrete anchors. That was like carrying around a boat anchor, where the Milwaukee is slightly heavier than an impact. I do use this with either a 8 or 9 amp battery, but it rips through concrete with ease. I can get around 90 holes before needing to recharge a battery.A co-worker used this on a project and when he finished drilling the holes he told me 2 things. 1 It changed his mind about a cordless rotary hammer drill versus corded. 2. Changed his mind on Milwaukee tools, he's a DeWalt fan.Worth every penny if you're needing a strong hammer to replace that old corded antique.

Great tool
I drilled through some telll city, brick and mortar, which the mortar is harder than the brick. This thing went through it like butter. Awesome. Dill

Milwaukee Quality
What else is there to say... It's definitely up to today's stand of cordless tools. The chipping doesn't hit as hard as the DeWalt I've used before but it definitely works. Drills holes quick as well. Doesn't blow through an 8ah battery too fast either.

Very heavy Duty
I'm just so tired of dragging out a cord to set anchors or drill holes. I was already married to Milwaukee, so getting this hammer drill was not a mistake for most applications since I already had several 18-volt batteries, which last a long time, anyway.
