Q: How does it smell and is it effective for underarm stinch?

It doesn’t have any perfume smell at all, which is why I use it—simply a neutral “non-smell.” NO fragrance = NO formaldehyde. Yes, it is effective for controlling underarm odor. It is designed specifically for that purpose. It is an anti-perspirant. I have been using this since 1983, when I was diagnosed with a serious chemical sensitivity that caused an immunity disorder. I am very satisfied and use Clinique soap and makeup products exclusively. So sorry they started making colognes. It really defeats their original purpose—to produce environmental- and human-friendly products without the KNOWN human carcinogen formaldehyde. People need to understand: if the ingredients include “fragrance,” the product includes formaldehyde! Except for the colognes and a few products for oily skin, Clinique is FORMALDEHYDE-FREE.
