Nice tool for removing paint runs. Now it does require some skill and patience. Wont fix laziness or bad prep work. Also paint or clear has to be nice and cured. Then I gently let this slide over the surface with very little pressure allowing the tool to do the work. Read that again. Let the tool do the work! If you press on this like a gorilla you will gouge at the edges causing more repair work. I work the run until about 80% is gone then finish with fine wet sand paper. Most bad reviews and due to people not using this properly. If your impatient painting isnt for you anyways.

If you touch up your car's paint with a small brush or get dirt or bugs in fresh sprayed paint, a nibbing file is a good tool to carefully knock the high spots off and then polish the finish to a gloss shine. Sanding of the high spots will also remove paint from the surrounding area that is not overly thick and can sand through to the primer. A nibbing file, used with a light touch on a flat or convex surface, will just remove the nub without affecting the surrounding area. Can't use on a concave area as the edges of the file will scratch. This file works well with care and experience, and it's priced much lower than one from a professional body shop tool dealer. Great for the part timer or occasional painter.

Had a few mins and a run, and using this tool saved me from having to sand and repaint that area!

I know I'm a big guy with ape hands but this thing is tiny... Its difficult to hold for any length of time, it's like trying to work with a piece of dice.These are held into the block of wood with a rare earth magnet. Which would be fine if the thing was glued in flat. Mine is NOT. This allows the hunk of file to rock a tiny bit. This rocking can cause the whole thing to roll into and bite hard into your paint, gouging it to steel. To say I'm angry is an understatement. The magnet isn't even close to flat.....how bad do you need to be at your job to screw up gluing in a magnet? I see from other reviews that I'm not the only one with the same issue. Hey Mr George, how much did you pay for the new guy?This thing is a fail. I'm going to try to get my magnet flat by removing it. However, rare earth magnets aren't exactly known for their durability. It'll more than likely break since it looks like it's held in with epoxy.

The media could not be loaded. Amazing tool. Many years of sanding runs out, this tool flattenes the run 100%. A learning curve. But once learned amazing, time saver.

For nibs it did ok but still needed a razor blade for final clean up. tried it on runs and didn't like it.
