Not sure if it was a fake but my skin definitely reacted badly to this product. I returned it as it wasn't suitable for me, had a weird smell and caused irritation which was surprising for this brand.... not been into a store to try an "official " one yet but intrigued to compare reactions to see if Amazon one wasn't real, or out of date? Its just questionable.

Do not buy!!
I really don’t think this is the real Kiehls serum. It smells different (VERY strongly, and not a good scent) and it’s super sticky. I was an avid user of this serum for over a year, and let me tell you, this is not the same stuff. Don’t waste your money, go to the Kiehls website.

Do not accept Kiehls products that are not wrapped in the usual cellophane wrapped packaging.
I am a long time user of Kiehls Products and when I see what I use in a large quantity size I love it.This Product came late & PKG was opened (It was not wrapped in cellophane as all the Kiehls products are AND it was half full. There was not leakage in the box.Where is the quality control?
