Tektro RL340 Lever Pair Silver Adult

I converted my single speed ebike from a straight handlebar to a drop bar, and this set is perfect. The fitment is right and the levers work well. I do feel that I should of went hydraulic but at this price point, I feel that itsa value pick which is fine for me.The rubber grip covers are excellent, combined with the aluminum levers look great.

I especially like the Campagnolo--style release button to widen the brake levers, for easier wheel exchange without having to deflate the tyre or stay stuck with thin tyres.I got these to replace some oooowwwld OEM levers that frankly, were barely doing the job. These are comfortable for an L size glove user like I am, but pretty sure that there would not be any reach problems for cyclists with smaller hands, as I have plenty of room to pull the levers. The fact that these were installed on Italian (round) bend bars, does play a big role in overall reach though. Current modern 'compact' bars would leave you with a little longer reach from the drops.Really nice packaging, honestly a bit of a stretch for the price point, I would've been perfectly fine with a humbler presentation, so this does count as extra if you're gifting them.

Works well enough. I outfitted it on older style drop bar and it’s obviously harder to fit it like a modern one. That being said, the fit won’t be as great as you won’t be able to wrest your hands easily on the hoods. With a bit of adjustment, anyone who’s not looking for absolute performance can get away with it as some cheaper alternatives for brakes.

What makes a product great? I my opinion, quality, efficacy and value. I believe these Tektro road brake levers hit the mark on all three.Quality:They subjectively feel nicer than some competitors that cost twice as much. Commonly, the first sign of quality is in the packaging. The Tektro's don't disappoint. They come nicely packaged in a black, soft-touch box with a Tektro sleeve. Looks like it would be right at home on a bike shop shelf. The rubber shrouds are both soft and firm. There is very little, if any side-to-side play in the levers. Spring tension is pretty light. Honestly, I would prefer a little bit more resistance here.Efficacy:They actuate my mini-V brakes on my hybrid/road bike conversion project.Value:At only $20, give a take a buck, these can't be beat for the price. They are way nicer than I expected them to be… Work great… The hood covers are a little hard but not that much of an issue. I’ve been riding with them for a couple of weeks now and they’re holding up great and look real nice.

I had a bike that had flat bars which I didn't really like. Ended up getting some drop-down bars to install on the bike and used these to complete the change. I also ended up getting some new bar tape and some new brake cables to install as well.Works exactly as you would expect and simple enough to install! Hopefully these last quite awhile but they're pretty good value for what you get.

I ordered these during the COVID lockdown and the shipping went from 1 week to 2 months! Then they showed up in 2 weeks. Whatever, they took only a few minutes to install and I love the way they feel. I went from "suicide shifters on my old steel bike to these. It's really nice to hold on to the hoods, it adds a few cm to my reach and makes the whole bike feel bigger. Great value.

These brake levers installed on my old 1973 Schwinn Continental easily. The quality seems very nice. The reach is adjustable with a flick of a button.But . . . The pull isn't long enough for older calipers. They engage the brakes, but only just, even with the pads adjusted to miss the rim by just a few millimeters. I'll have to either use a pulley adapter, or replace the calipers. I'd rather not replace them, but I don't like the pulleys I've tried before.If you have modern calipers, you'll probably be fine. As I started with, these levers are great for the price.
