Pros:1. I like the look, very sleek & minimalist2. Its really quiet3. The Light gets very bright compared to many LED ceiling lights or fans or lights I've tested (especially for being so small and sleek).4. Works with google assistant, alexa and siri shortcutsCons:1. Does not work with regular light switches (properly). If the fan is on and you turn off the light switch that powers it, And then you turn the light switch back on the fan stays off unless you activate it through the app or the remote (which looks like a toy or iPod for a five-year-old) every time. I mean honestly I’m trying to wrap my head around the idea that the developers of this didn’t assume any customers would be using… You know… Regular mother effing light switches.2. If you currently have two light switches, 1 for a fan and 1 for the light, again this fan will not work with them as it only has one power and input for both the fan and the light and only the light auto responds to power on/off via the light switch.3. Remote is ugly and bulky. Honestly I don’t even know why they give you the remote, I think they should have just made this work with regular light switches and give you the option to have two switches and have a bunch of features on the app… It’s supposed to be a smart fan after all.Instead the only physical switch option you have to turn your light and fan off and on is essentially the remote.4. When spinning in reverse, the fan makes an annoying noise repeatedly. (UPDATE I FIXED THIS BY SLIDING THE LITTLE CUP THINGY UP THE POLE AS IT WAS RUBBING BUT ONLY IN REVERSE)5. Does not store the fan or light settings. If you turn the fan off via a switch the light defaults to yellow/white 50/50 and fan defaults to being off.Overall the cons way outweigh the pros for me.

I purchased 6 of these Carro Icebreaker fans within the last month. 3 from Amazon, 3 from SmaFan.com. 5 are the 56” fan, 1 was the 52” fan.Unfortunately, literally every single one of them have made a noise. It’s a ticking or knocking sound. I’ve done the thing of keeping the cover above the fan motor slid up the down rod so it doesn’t make noise and there is no packing material I need to remove. I do believe the noise I’m hearing is coming from the ball joint where it plops into the mounting bracket.I contacted Carro fans directly and described my issue and send them pics and videos. Their basic reply was that this is a known design issue and they can’t do anything but issue a refund and have me return the fans. I’ve asked if there’s a fix coming or any time frame for one, and they stated there wasn’t.I love the fans. And love the functionality of the fans. The smart aspect works great, the lights are bright and work great. I do not love the intermittent ticking/knocking they make on literally every single one.I don’t know if I want to return them, because I haven’t found a good alternative, but I don’t know if they are worth keeping.

Fan is a super and pleasing design, great amount of breeze or just a slight breeze, light can be VERY bright or dimmed quite low, and the Alexa feature is super……about the Alexa feature…..very hard to pair but if you are persistent, as I am, you can get it done and Alexa can do ALL the features of the fan and light. You must download the Carro Home app and link it to your Alexa app. I went online and googled how to do it and that is how I finally got it done….instructions that come with the fan are not a help….we had it installed as we are both in our 80’s now and don’t do ladders anymore but watched it being done and it is straight forward….just the pairing with Alexa takes awhile……hope it lasts a long time…we shall see.

Fan's assembly manual could be better and more accurate, but I am very happy with the purchase and product itself. Installed outside which fan has plastic blades and will last well out there. Fan speed controls allow for excellent air movement. Took longer to assemble the pieces than to hang and wire the fan itself. Make sure you don't put this on switched power so that the WIFI and smart phone controls stay working at all times. I had switched power so I just bought some magnetic light switch covers so that it does not get shut off on accident. Easily connected to the Carro Home app and then after enabling the Carro Home skill in the Alexa app I am able to program routines and control on the fly. The yellow light and white light on the fan come in as different lights, but usually you will only be using one spectrum so that is how I set it up for my controls. Light is able to be set very bright at level 10 and allows for full control on brightness.

It arrived today and only took about an hour or so to install and set up. If you've never hung a ceiling fan before, you will probably find it a little harder than you thought it would be. If, however, like me, you HAVE hung ceiling fans you will definitely find this easier than most. At first, I was a little leary of how it looked right out of the box, but for the most part, the instructions were pretty straightforward and fairly easy to follow. I would definitely recommend this fan even though it's a bit more expensive than a lot of other fans. The price here on Amazon was CONSIDERABLY less than the price for the same fan on the company's website. You get a lot of features for your money. Would buy again!

Not even a month in and the motor has started to make a loud clicking noise that is unbearable. Emailed SmaFan and haven't heard back yet to get a new motor.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I really wanted to like this product, but about 2 days into having the fan any speed over 4 made a loud clicking. I decided I could just keep it below that speed and be fine, however after about another week the fan just stoped working all together. I decided I would just order a replacement and give it a second chance, whenever the replacement fan however all of the blades were badly scratched and damaged. Do not but this product!
