I was trying to send minidisk tracks to my laptop but the sound I ended up with saw not good enough for my liking listening to the Sony minidisk professional E10 player was perfect but that is not what I got on my Laptop so guess I need to spend more money

Having used Tascam's "Porta Studio" before and also having a Tascam condensor mic, I thought I would give this interface a try as I like the brand and I am always especially pleased with the build quality I get from Tascam, which was no different this time.The build quality is solid, the pad buttons are firm and the knobs are just as you would expect them to be, easy to move, but solid material.The sound quality is actually very good and I would say the performance is better than the Focusrite 3rd gen interface it replaces once you get it setup.However, setting it up is where you may start to have issues. For what is effectively an audio interface with a few effects, its crazy complicated. I should have expected it to be after owning the porta studio, which was similarly brilliant in quality, but a real undertaking to learn to use.The most frustrating thing, is there are multiple different modes and changes you need to make to the computers sound settings to use this thing! and you need to change settings and modes if you want to switch between something like recording a song on Ableton and speaking to a chat on Discord. This is all done in Tascams software which is easily downloaded from their website, but there's far too many options once you get inside this software!So give yourself plenty of time to learn the software, look through google for answers as the manual is pretty much useless, and once you get it setup and you have learnt all of the different options in the software, its a fantastic piece of kit.

I was looking for the Rodecaster Pro or the Zoom PodTrack but they are so expensive. Searching about it I found this beauty. It is fantastic for beginners and, in fact, I was looking for it because I wanted it for my wife's online classes. She uses it on Meet and in combination with OBS is a super improvement in audio and effects quality.I think is a reduced version of the Rodecaster or the Podtrack but is more than sufficiently for what my wife required. I would like it has a noise reduction/ noise gate for the microphone input.
