📸 Snap in Style: Where Protection Meets Chic!
The Magpul Industries iPhone 5 Field Case is a semi-rigid cover designed for basic protection in the field. Made in the USA, it features a compact design that allows easy access to charging and audio ports, while its textured surface provides enhanced grip. The case is available in a stylish pink color and includes a raised lip to protect the screen when laid face down.

Rugged, grippable, long-lasting iPhone protection
THE TYPE OF CASE: The Magpul case is a back and sides style of case - it does not offer touchscreen protection (though see below) and it does not fully enclose the iPhone to protect it from the elements (like a waterproof case would, such as the Otterbox range). What it does provide is a custom fitted, high-quality, very reasonably priced case that should fit many people's needs. If you are worried about the phone slipping (out of your hand, off the table), knocks and bumps from dropping it or tossing it around (a bit), or just don't like the feel of the slim metal and glass casing of the iPhone itself, this sort of case is all you need. Unless you are likely to drop your phone from above waist height, want to go swimming with it, or have diamond coated keys in your pocket, you do not need a fully-enclosed case or a screen-protector (the glass on the new phones can shatter but it is pretty tough and won't get scratched (shattering can happen even with a screen-protector) and you benefit from getting the direct touchscreen feel that the phone was designed for.DESIGN: the Magpul is excellently designed. It is a hard, but not utterly rigid plastic with, as can be seen in photos, four horizontal ribs and two vertical ones. It fits the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s (not the 5c). It snaps on firmly to the iPhone (easier if you put it on from the top end where the buttons are) and fits closely. The camera and flash at the back are completely uncovered, though protected with the recessed plastic. The side buttons and power button are completely covered and the Magpul button covers are etched to give texture and provide some extra but not much resistance: in other words they feel solid. The mute switch on the side, and the bottom ports (audio jack, charging cable, speakers) are all exposed for easy access. The diameter of these bottom cutouts allows for use with normal and ever so slightly chunkier than normal cables (charging and headphones). The front of the case extends 1mm or so in front of the phone, providing a protective overhang. The plus side: this allows you to put the phone on a flat surface, screen down, and the screen will not touch the surface at all - handy for knowing your phone screen is nicely protected. The down side? Swiping in from the side of the screen to go back (new gesture in iOS7) is slightly awkward, but not terribly so.IN USE: both the textured material and those ribs give the Magpul a good tactile feeling in the hand - robust, yet slender. It also provides more friction in the hand and on a sloped surface, making slipping far less likely than with a naked iPhone. It has passed the casual drop test (accidental drops from 1-3 feet) a number of times and no damage to either the phone or the case has been seen. Many other cases, over time, get looser and the plastic less well-shaped. This has not been true of the Magpul. While I can see hints at very slight gaps (hair width) in the corners of the case, it is as rigid and close-fitting as when it was bought 11 months ago (and indeed those corner gaps may have been there on purchase). There is zero evidence that it has got any looser in any way. Finally, the overall feel and weight of the case is, in some ways, even nicer and more satisfying than with a naked phone. The military styling gives it decent and distinctive looks, while remaining highly functional and useful. I am very glad Magpul branched out into this range and I would gladly buy their cases again when I next upgrade my phone.

Great balance between protection and slimness, great look, decent price
I was looking for something to protect a new iPhone5, but I've come to really hate cases on my iDevices.I've had various different case types for previous phones, but they all eventually came off and stayed off.The wonderful thing about the 5 when comparing it to older iPhones is its beautiful light weight. It slips easily into my pocket, and feels great in my hand. If I was going to put a case on it, it needed to offer significant protection (otherwise, why bother?), without turning it into a tank. I have friends who use Otterboxes. Ugh. Great protection, but now you are carrying around a brick. So, on to actually talking about the MagPul case.First, its remarkably slim. The pmag style ribs provide rigidity and protection, while leaving the rest of the case nice and thin. The texture has more grip than a bare device, but won't drag your pocket liner with it when you pull it out.The power and volume switches use molded over button covers, but the buttons are still easily pressed. The slight raised lip around the screen allows you to put the phone screen down on a flat surface without putting the screen in contact with the surface.Lastly, and this is obviously subjective, but I find the minimalist design ruggedly attractive. As with anything though, there are a few downsides. First, the moulded opening for the lightning plug, headphone jack, speakers and mic is a three hole setup, and may not fit all accessories. I use an Apple lightning to 30 pin adapter (the short one) to charge and play in my car, and I have to slip the bottom of the phone out of the case in order to connect it. The longer version of that adapter would work fine, with its slim lighting connector and attached cable, but the short version has the dimensions of the 30 pin connector, and does not work. Some headphone cables have the same issue.Second, the three areas that are exposed through the case (camera, mute switch, and the previously mentioned headphone/lightning area) will pick up dust and dirt, and will need to be cleaned occasionally.Lastly, there is no impact protection for the screen, if that matters to you. Personally, I hate putting layers between the screen and my eyes and fingers, but if you want total protection, look elsewhere.Magpul is a US company, and for me at least, that also counts for something. This case is not a fashion case. There are subtle mold lines in the plastic, and the colors are best described as outdoorsy. If thats your lifestyle, this will fit in perfect.I like it. I've dropped my phone on tile with the case on, and didn't have any damage at all.Since I bought my case, I've showed it off to friends and family, and have seen several people buy their own, not just for the i5, but also for the iPad mini, retina mini, iPhone 4s, and iPhone 5s.My biggest complaint now is that Magpul doesn't make a similar case for the full size iPads.

Great Case!!
I've had this case for the last 4 months and I love it! Fits great and looks good. The case is nice and flexible, my iPhone can easily be placed into the case, yet I have never had a problem with the case falling off. It is quite secure. Another great thing is the material of the case! It provides the perfect amount of grip while still somehow not collecting lint from being in my pocket.I've used close to 50 cases with all of my iPhones over the last 5 years, and this is by far the best case that Ive used. It not water proof but however I regularly drop my iPhone and the Field Case has absorb every impact.Great case for the money, I would recommend to anyone with an iPhone.

Exactly as expected.
As a fan of all things military and having used a Magpul case for my Iphone4, I decided to invest in a similar item for my new Iphone5s. The item arrived the very next day, which was a very pleasant surprise. The packaging is very nice and has a very good description of what the protective features of the case are. There is also a brief bit about Magpuls history, written on the box.The protective case fits over my Iphone5s very snugly and allows easy access to all the buttons. E.g. volume control, lock screen etc. I like the P-Mag style feel on the back of the case. All in all I am very satisfied with this product and if you want a good case for your trusty phone then I highly recommend this item and this company.

Magpul iphone 5 case
I had a magpul case on my iPhone 4 so I knew these were high quality items. Will protect your phone from drops and knocks and the raised lips on the face of the cover will protect the screen of your phone when placed face down on a flat surface. I didn't have a screen cover film on my old phone and it wasn't scratched after two years with the mag pull case on. The case is slimline and grippy so will not turn your iPhone into a brick you can't put in your pocket like other protective cases. Brilliant bit of kit
