This book is very thorough in theory and application regarding the ICP-OES hence the title "A Practical Guide". This book goes into detail about the history of different component and how it affects the analysis. In addition, the author also discussed about the data acquisition and spectra correction.Everything written in this book is very hand-on, which explain little snippet of question every 10-15 pages and how to solve them. It is a well worth the investment for anyone who is new to this application, and I highly recommend it.One last note: this book offers guidance on the instrument and not sample preparation.
