If ya need to know the temp of a hot item or monitor the temperature of your home this tool is a must-have. I bought it to test a thermostat as I was having coolant issues in my 96 Acura Integra which has an engine swap k20a2. My heater core and upper radiator hose would get hot but the lower hose stayed cool so I took the thermostat out and did the boiling water test to see when it opened and closed monitoring with this device.The temp gun tool has a 12:1 D:S (distance to spot) ratio which is fine although would rather have a 6:1 ratio.Measures from -25.6°F to 752°F (-32°C to 400°C). 0.1°C/0.1°F resolution.Degree C/F switch. LCD backlit for easy reading.Adjustable emissivity (EMS) 0.1 to 1.0.Alarm for temperature that exceeds or falls below limits with Data hold. Auto power off.The device seems accurate but purchased a second to do an accuracy test of each so I have one both for work and my shop garage personal use. NOTE THIS IS NOT FOR HUMAN USE

The media could not be loaded.  I have no idea of how to use this infrared thermometer. I seen it used on youtube checking temperatures for candle wax and I thought hmmm, let me get one of those too. I don't know what I was thinking. But that's youtube, always making us think we need what they have or we can do what they're doing. LOL... Well, I got the battery in, saw the red light. Something happened with the digital window, but I don't know how to set it or if I set it correctly. I turned it on and couldn't turn it off. It does shut off automatically after a few seconds of non use, so yeah... Someone with experience with this type of technology definitely will have a better experience but as for me I will be paying YouTube a visit...

I will be using this to measure how insulation/radiant barrier will affect the overall differences between rooms in my home. The temp seems pretty spot on and is consistent – understanding that shooting it through a translucent material like glass or plastic may not provide an accurate reading. If you shoot it at a countertop, it will give you more consistent readings than if you shoot it at an ice cube that the laser can penetrate. Some places in my fridge gave a reading within a degree of the fridge’s setting, and others further off, so air movement could be a factor as well. For my use it will work adequately to measure Heat/AC items (vents, insulation improvements, etc.). I’m happy with it so far and will update if the longevity or results aren’t as expected. It feels very solid and like it will be a useful tool for a long time.

The media could not be loaded.  While I don’t have any other device or thermometer to compare the readings of this infrared thermometer against to, based on the areas I aimed to measure the temperature, I would say it seems it is pretty accurate, at least when it comes to reading the hot and cold surfaces.The thermometer uses a 9 volt battery (included), and operating it is fairly simple, just pressing the trigger to read and releasing it to hold the reading. There are other buttons to change max and min temperature, Celsius to Fahrenheit, among other settings.In general I am satisfied with how this infrared temperature reader works.

After following the instruction sheet to change from C to F, I found ithis handy thermometer works great. I tested a number of items of known temperatures and found this device to be pretty accurate, at least for my household uses. Very handy to remotely measure temps without touching.
