The Fed and the ECB rule!
Anyone who wants to understand the long term consequences of today's economic dominance by Wall St. and the big banks, their preponderant influence over government, and the FIRE sector generally, needs to read this short, clear book by Michael Hudson.

Good information
The book is well researched and well written, but I did find many duplicates throughout the book, where ideas, concepts or examples were being referred to multiple times, almost oblivious to earlier references.

How much energy can a parasite bleed from an ecosystem before the system dies?
Finance as Warfare is a fascinating book. It's central argument is that if rentiers succeed in tapping too much rent from the productive economy, that is, the economy that produces tangible, real things, it harms the economy.

Essential reading for the 21st century
Michael Hudson is one of the few writers on modern economics that unearths and exposes the rot at the center of our global economic system. Written in a style that any layman can access, Finance as Warfare serves as a stark warning that we must either be willing to discuss some uncomfortable truths about economic system (and change it), or continue to suffer a widening wealth disparity along with poverty and debt-slavery for our future generations.

Jonah and the whale
Despite its many typo's this is a brilliant book, outlining in a series of essays how finance swallowed first power then politics and now is swallowing the world... Like Jonah, we need exit from the belly of the whale!
