Silverline SP100 Combination Spanner Set 25pce 6-32 mm

Good basic set spanners for cheap but you get what you pay for.Work as an electrician so I use these most days making off glands on SWA and bolting together tray and unistrut, and so on.They're ok. They're durable and stuff but here are the downsides:The ring spanner end on every spanner in the set is rounded on entry from both sides it is borderline useless... Unless you can get the bolt head all the way in and even then, it can can off very easily due to how rounded and fluted both ends of the ring are.The open end is slightly better but still not quite as sharp so can result in some camming off.That being said, they're chrome vanadium which is good, I've not bent one yet and for the price, you get a really good range of spanners. More than you'll need.The roll for the spanners has a tendency to let the last of the smaller spanners fall out, but other than that, the roll is good enough quality.

Well as always with Silverline im happy with there tools. the price is right for them, they work just as well as snap on or other expensive brands, and if i drop it on a job or leave it in a combine (has been known) it doesn't cost the earth to replace. i will continue to buy Silverline tools.

For the price this set is fine for DIY use but the quality is only average at best. Compromises have been made during manufacture particularly with the accuracy of the shaping of the jaws, the rounded and poorly cast insides of the ring ends and the poor quality chroming. The roll bag looks as if will not last for more than a few days. For emergency use in my shed they will meet my requirements but I would like to rely on them for orofessional use.

The set came as described. I checked I had the right sizes after reading other reviews and no problems at all. One of the slots in the case is a little tight but overall I'm extremely impressed for the money. The wide range is very helpful and on my first use I needed 5 of the sizes other sets didn't include. I'd definitely recommend these spanners but check them when you receive to make sure you got the right sizes.

Good piece of kit, so much in fact, that my friend took it off my hands after he used it once :) So I ordered a new set, and using it happily ever since. Casing is not the sturdiest (found out the hard way, after dragging it back and forth on the concrete floor of the garage), but still very functional. Obviously not for the professionals, but for the home mechanic, it won't disappoint (I am using it for my car, bike and bicycle alike, and it is serving me very well)
