One of my favorite brushes.
I've used this for both oil and acrylic. It's easy to clean. Bristles hold their shape. And it can take a beating! This brush is an all-around work horse, I've got almost the entire collection at this point.

Great for acrylics
This brush has an excellent snap and is very easy to clean! If you have cheap(er) liner/ pointed round brushes and you paint with oil or acrylics, you may want to try this brush out. I've seen several softer liners, but fewer firm liners. Nearly all my liners have the little hook at the tip; sometimes they get it within the first use! I keep the brushes wet/damp and I do not scrub with them. This brush does not seem to fray or hook at the bottom like the ones I already have. I don't feel like I have to be as careful with this brush as others because it feels much more sturdy. I only dip the tip of the brush in paint and barely use pressure for fine details. This brush also withstands additional pressure if you don't need a super thin line. For this liner, it will work best if the paint is fresh, or runny enough that it flows off the brush. I use a Sta-wet pallet; it doesn't work well if the "older" paint is a little "tacky."Fresh heavy bodies work, so I imagine softer ones would be fine/better.Now I'm going to find the smaller liner brush, this one is great, but I want something a little more finer for smaller details.I received my item before the estimation and it was very nicely packed! I might even keep the box to temporary hold some of my brushes. I do not receive discounts for reviews; I would purchase again from Hyatt's.

an excellent brush and will be worth your money
Short version: it is an excellent brush and will be worth your money.Long version: I have tried all sorts of brushes out there... cheap and pricey. I purchased the #6 Filbert (short handle) and absolutely love my new brush. I’ve only had it for a few days but it’s been subjected to lots of oil paint and cleaning, and I am pleased to say it does not splay like a natural hog bristle brush would after the extensive use/washing I’ve put it through. I’ve noticed other brushes separate when wet/in use but this one does not and I am very glad for that. The brush also has the perfect balance of softness and spring, especially for my firm oil paints.I honestly never considered purchasing a half synthetic / half natural bristle brush but I am glad that I purchased this brush. In just a few days I’ve come to the conclusion that it was worth the money I paid for it, and I will certainly purchase these brushes again in the future.I have not tried it with acrylics yet but am almost certain it would perform just as well.

A good brush for acrylics.
I like this brand because they emulate natural bristles, but are synthetic. I like the 'stiffness' of these 'bristles' because they can push the tube acrylic paint around. They'd be too rough for watercoloring, though anything goes and might be effective in your circumstances. Furthermore, this one is a short handled brush, and these are hard to find in this brand. I have very little space, and paint on a table, so the short handle works better for me. I don't do oils but I bet these work just fine in oil paint too.

Best acrylic brushes made.
I don't know about oils but my acrylic paint glides over my canvas. My painting has improved so much with these brushes. I bought several sizes of the chisel brushes. My incredibly talented painting teacher uses these. Now I know why. My endless search for good brushes is over! I highly recommend them!

I love Princeton Catalyst brushes
I bought this brush to add to my collection of Princeton Catalyst brushes I use for acrylic painting. The Polytip bristles and the stiffness make working with heavy-body acrylic paints so much easier.
