Q: Is this manufactured in China? Must know truth; don’t want to buy it and have to return.

I threw away the box, but I don’t like the kettle. After 2 weeks of use it smells peculiar when it boils, so I’m looking for a different one.

Q: How does it work if it has no electric cord? What kind of power does it use?

This kettle does use a cord. -- The one pictured has a black cord - It is powered by a regular household outlet (110V) in the USA. Please note that the kettle does detach from the base for easy pouring
