Good value bevel square.
Good value sliding bevel square for woodworking. Overall fit and finish good. Some sharp edges on blade that needed minor dressing with stone/wet & dry. Thumb lock works well and holds solidly.Blued blade, brass trimmed handle look so much nicer than chrome & plastic and should last a long time.

Expected better
The sides are not parallel and not square. Poor machining around the brass ends, also a bit hollow on the sides between the brass ends. Whoever was sanding it down got carried away or slipped up on the thumb screw end. Have spent several hours sanding the sides, will probably need to use a more aggressive grit to fix one of the sides and make it parallel with the other. The steel bevel is a stamped spring steel piece which isn't bad, but there were some pretty significant burs at the 45 bevel point that also needed to be sanded down, other than the burs it seems to be a decent straight blade.I saw some reviews that mention 'construction grade', so maybe I'm being too critical and expected too much. Maybe it's a quality control issue and I just happened to get a bad one that slipped through. On the plus side, the wing nut is easy to use and does a great job of holding the spring steel blade in place. After putting some time into getting the sides parallel and adding a new finish, I think it will last a long time.Update: Adding another star, after getting the sides parallel it has worked great, has a nice weight to it, and line angles are identical when using either side of the bevel. A nice result that doesn't add to the usability of the tool is that after all the sanding (of all sides) I like the overall look of the tool even more.

Great tool
Solid construction; the weight of it is nice compared to a cheap plastic substitute. It locks down well and holds the angle you want. Works great for drawing dovetails.

Okay for diy enthusiast but I doubt a tradesman would buy this. You get what you pay for.
For the price, less than £6 you can't go far wrong but the quality does not compare with the original British made Marples tools. The wingnut and screw seems to be made of some sort of brass which is much softer than carbon steel so we shall see. I find it quite saddening that we have handed so much of our manufacturing base and skillset over to China :(

Well built and accurate
Well build, sturdy, accurate. Only gripe is that sometimes the wing nut is slightly too wide and sticks out a tiny bit too far so that the side won't sit flat against the surface you're measuring. But that's easily fixed by turning it round a little further. Other than that it's a very nice tool.
