so much fun
Big fan of legacy games so after playing the base game in a games cafe we were excited to try this one. It has lots of fun twists and suprises. Would say sometimes it gets a bit overally complication for no real reason but we really enjoyed it overall.

Overall recommend, with a minor balance issue.
Note: I have not played the original Machi Koro so this is my first experience with this franchise.Machi Koro Legacy is a 2-4 player legacy "campaign" that unfolds over 10 games. Each individual game takes between 30-60 minutes, so this is on the shorter end of a legacy campaign, but perfect for a group of friends that want to knock something out over a weekend.Machi Koro itself is a relatively simple and easy to pickup deckbuilding style game, so it's great for more casual board gamers or kids. The story is fun, but nothing too noteworthy. As for gameplay, there was a balance issue with the Furniture Factory in our experience that made it overpowered for most of the campaign. The game is also driven by dice so there is a good amount of randomness and luck involved to win. If you enjoy games like Catan, you will probably like this game. There is no end-of-campaign scoring, so there isn't really an overall winner, just a series of individual wins. After the legacy campaign is complete, the game is still fully playable so you can break it out for future game sessions, even with players who weren't part of the original campaign. The components were sturdy and well-made - I was especially happy with the coins. The art is great and colorful.Overall, I'd give it 4.3/5.

Fun family game or for close friends
This is a fun game to play. It is a legacy game, meaning, that it is played round after round with the same people. Make sure that you have a group of persons (2-4) that can continually play the game with you. I think ideally, this is best played with 4 people otherwise it feels somewhat wasteful. I played with 3 persons total and was still functional and fun.The rules could use a little work-over and clarification in certain parts. I think more information needs to be added in explanation. It’s not entirely that complex of a game, but it introduces changes to the rules each round and sometimes these are written in a way that does not make the most sense. Additionally, the game starts out really strong, but the last few rounds had mechanics that were not entirely fun, but more-so seemed to just lengthen the game unnecessarily.

Fun surprises and can be replayed after the 10 games . No spoilers.
We love Machi Koro and we were excited to try this out. First time playing a legacy game. We made it through all 10 games and we are going through it again. I’m happy that we can replay it although there are no surprises like the first time through. It seems as if other legacy games have you rip up pieces that won’t be used again which ruins it for future play after making it through the campaign. Not the case for this one. We had some questions as we went through it but were able to figure out the answers or argue until we agreed on something but it was worth it. As with the original Machi Koro, we were able to figure out which combos of cards would make us the most money (for example, buy all the wheats and get the vegetable stands and hope for an 11 or 12) but so much depends on who can get the cards first and of course what the outcome of the dice will be. I was worried that once someone took the lead in one game and had extra advantages, that they would keep winning the future games but it balanced out. Not a whole lot of strategy needed, and the game could go either way so for two competitive game players, we appreciate that no one is dominating the number of wins.

Great legacy game!
Really enjoy playing Machi Koro and love the legacy aspect of this game. It’s fun to see how the weeks evolve, and sessions don’t require too much time, so it’s easy to set aside time for.
