Beautiful, but not quick or for beginners
This is not a beginner pattern, but a very pretty one! Be REALLY careful about seam allowances, corner trimming and pressing seams open, and it should go together nicely. I tried to speed things up by pressing to one side and had to redo some wonky blocks. ;<(!! I am just binding a queen size version and have had lots of positive comments about it. I did put a 2" black border on the straight sides, which I, and most of my quilting friends, thought made it more balanced and also almost square. With full 42" usable width fabric or full 21" usable fat quarters, I can get enough pieces for 4 blocks out of one 3.5" WOF strip or 7" of each fat quarter with very little waste. I could also make all four blocks subtly different. Making four blocks at a time took about 2 hours for a group, not counting the black sashing, which I did all at once, so it is a real time investment. By changing one fabric in the second set, all those blocks are different from the first set. By making two "sets" of each color, I have a quilt with 42 unique blocks and 14 "extras" that could be either 1/3 of a new queen or most of a throw.

Five Stars
Canโt wait to start this one, a little out of my usual choices.

I didn't like the final result.
Lots of work. The final product looks too loud for a large quilt. Looks better on paper than on fabric.
