Solid CB Radio Mobile Mount
4 Stars were given.Installed a Firestik Fire Ring coax cable antenna system that required more head space than the mounting bracket provided. A dremel tool was used to grind the cable side port larger to accommodate the system.Mounted perfectly onto the SUV rear hatch door. Looks good. Would recommend.

Painted surfaces present issues
For a lip mount, it is sturdy, easily adjusted. The drawback is on most vehicles, getting a good ground is very difficult. I find it is the painted surface. They look nice, but I opted for a a lip mount that was unpainted metal.

Take the chance and try it for yourself.
I admit I’m a big review reader but you can’t always believe what you read and sometimes you just have to take a chance. So, I have a 2020 Tacoma and I purchased an antenna hood bracket from another company. It was nice because it made my dual band HAM antenna look almost stock. However, the base of the antenna sat almost two inches below the hood line and caused some immediate ground plane issues. My initial SWR testing was showing 9:1 using high quality, low loss cable and the fancy hood bracket mount. I looked around for a solution that would increase the height off of the hood bracket since I liked the idea and had already dropped $30 plus on that mount. I came across several ideas similar to this Bingfu mount that were easily 5 times the price and couldn’t justify it, especially if my idea didn’t work. Long short of it is that I received this mount and removed the bolt on the bottom that holds the mounting clip. This left me with about a 1.5 inch extension. I removed the NMO connection from my fancy hood bracket and bolted this unit to the hood bracket with a stainless steel nut/ bolt. I cleaned both surfaces of paint to ensure a solid connection in the contacts. I added the NMO connection to the Bingfu unit and tightened everything down, testing for ground continuity and finding no issues. Now, the true test was SWR and this is where it was a mix. I still have some tuning to do, but my SWR on VHF is now 1:3 and UHF is at 2:1. Not bad at all considering where I started. I have had no issues with wobbling loose but I only have one pivot point now that I removed the factory base connection. Finish seems well covered and matches my black truck well. Overall I’m quite pleased and glad I took a chance on this part before spending 5 times as much to most likely get the same result.

Will have corrosion quickly
Don’t buy it, it won’t save you anything when it corrodes and ruins your $80 coax header.
