I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 48RE transmission. I should note that I do a fair amount of fifth wheel RV towing. It was shutter shifting between first and second gear regardless if I was towing or not. This ATS conversion kit, along with a BD Diesel Pressure Transducer, fixed the problem. I have driven over 2,000 miles since doing the conversion and my transmission is shifting like new again. The conversion is plug and play with basic tools.Update April 2022: 60,000 miles later I thought I was have the same symptoms again. Turns out it was actually my transmission’s intermediate band being way out of adjustment. Crawled under the vehicle in the driveway, performed the adjustment, and the transmission is shift perfectly again. Check your band adjustment if you develop a shifting problem after you have already installed the ATS conversion.

Have a 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 Cummins containing a 48RE transmission with only 50K miles. Started noticing a shuttle shift between 1 and 2 at light acceleration and a second issue upon passing and reentry into lane again (truck would gear down for passing but when gearing up again my check engine light would come on and give a P0868 (Low Pressure) code.Researched for awhile and over and over again these two items were recommended to solve the problem. All I can say is it solved the problems and also made it shift as smooth as butter under light acceleration, has firmer shifts under moderate acceleration and doesn't shift hunt at all. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Other part of the project was a BDiesel 1060602 Pressure Transducer.

I put it in a 03 dodge 47re and it made it shift better

Easy to install and a quality product.

Have a full billet trans with about 50k on it now. It started to shift hunt at low speed cruising. I ordered this upgrade but kinda put it off waiting for better weather. Then the truck started to really have some shifting issues and threw a couple codes. One being the output speed sensor. Got one of those and was forced to install this during a damn storm. Of course... So far so good. The shifts definitely feel a lot firmer and more positive now. Guess I'll get the Transducer mod everyone mentioned for the next fluid change.

I bought this because this is supposed to be the fix for a lot of issues the 48re has but it only lasted a week. I was very disappointed in this product from ATS because I thought they were a company that made quality products.
