The end isn’t as strong as I was hoping. Works well with fine wire.

Handles are 3 1/4 inches long, so I can only use 3 fingers and my thumb, to squeeze the handles together. (I'm a petite woman by the way) Being so tiny they are awkward to hold. I just wanted them to cut solder and they do cut solder. I am learning to solder so was really purchasing this based on a materials list of things I needed to complete a small project and these being so tiny was a shock. Hopefully being tiny will be a benefit but only time will tell.

I just received these cutters and my purchase was based on the two previous reviews. It appears well made and the cutting edges meet perfectly. Only time will tell if the Rockwell hardness translates to true durability of the cutting edges. The description didn't include the size, so here it is: 4 1/2" X 2" (closed). The cutting head is 3/8" (closed). This was smaller than what I expected but perfectly fine for small, precision work. The cutting edge extends all the way to the tip, so it's great for reaching tight places and trimming excess wire. If it matters to you, they're designed in Sweden and made in Spain.May 2013 Update: 2 yrs. later, these diagonal cutters are still sharp and the hinge shows no sign of wear or play. I've cut some hard wire with them and the cutting edges show no sign of them. Highly recommended.

I've been using Lindstrom cutters for 25 years. If you've ever had to trim leads on a board with 650 through-hole components you will become aware of the difference between a 6 dollar pair of cutters and these ones. They greatly relieve tendonitis. If you're especially prone to that, you may want to get the Lindstrom's with the ergo handles. As long as you don't exceed their cutting capacity they will last forever. Its really difficult to explain the crispness that these cut with. If you trim leads or do other small electrical work, these are a must have.

i slammed my hand in a door four years ago and mangled my wedding ring. I tried to have it removed at several sources but it was so badly damaged that conventional treatment did not get it out even with emergency ring cutters. This slid through the gold of my band like slicing butter. I only wished I had found this four years ago because I lost two diamonds. Thank you to the people who answered my question.

I ordered this cutter to use on beading threads. It is widely used by seasoned beaders and frankly I'm tired of using scissors that doesn't cut flushed. It looks well made and has a little weight (but not heavy). I tried it already and performs as I expected. Money well spent. It is made in Spain. I will buy more of their tools and get rid of the cheap ones I have.

I am amending my written review because this vendor has GROSSLY inflated the original price of this tool. This is absolutely unconscionable so I am reducing the number of stars from five to three.This is my second pair of this tool. I broke the tip of one of the cutters. I tried to order another pair, but there were none available. I wrote the vendor about replacement, etc. but I received no reply. In the meantime, I ordered other flush pliers and nothing would do. Finally, the tool became available again and I immediately ordered. This is the only tool that works for my jewelry business. I highly recommend but not necessarily from this vendor.

I debated between three or four stars. These cut great, very easy smooth action, but the end they leave on the wire just is not flush. I ultimately decided on three stars because after investing in this cutter I'm going to have to also invest more money and time to file the sharp ends it leaves. I'm quite surprised that these aren't as good as the $6 cutter they're meant to replace. Hopefully they'll last longer, but they're making extra work for me.
