Hartz Parakeet, Canary, Finch Small Bird Food -4Lb

By budgies (parakeets) will only eat small seeds and toss aside any colorful nutrient bits. They are picky eaters.the are devouring this though - it’s almost all the small round seeds they prefer. Nutrients labeling suggests its fortified with needed nutrients, so I will probably reorder this brand and variety again. Also the price was very good.

I’m a big fan of this bird food for our parakeets and cockatiel. We use it as a supplement to their fresh food, sprout mix, and pellets. My favorite part about this food is that it is budget friendly and doesn’t contain sunflower seeds like most low cost bird foods. My birds actually eat everything that’s in this mix, so not as much goes to waste.

I was surprised at the quality of the product and packaging for the bird food. I am very pleased with the size of the bag. I choose to order this monthly and love the convenience of not worrying about going shopping. bird food to me it's kind of like light bulbs you forget it every single time you go shopping so this is been nothing short of excellent.

I think this seed is a good value and arrived fresh. I’ve had problems with moths hatching out in other seeds. I fed it to my Zebra Finches but they wouldn’t eat the wheat grains that were a good amount of the seed base. I haven’t tested it on other type birds. I have Conures and Canaries so I will try it out on them. The package says it is for Finches, Canaries and Parakeets.

I'm not much of a reviewer but after seeing poor reviews when reordering this product I thought I'd write one. I have 5 parakeets and they will choose this food over any other food (other than millet and treats of course) this is definitely their new favorite and I've tried at least 10 brands. Their is a large variety of seeds in the bag versus other products as well. I will definitely keep reordering this product, 4 pounds for under 5$ is a great deal. Thanks Hartz!

Lately I’ve been searching for good, cheap brands of birdseed with a good variety of different seeds and small pellets. This brand has good mix of normal yellow and red millet, plus some other seed varieties. I’m not sure if my birds will ever try the pellets since they’re very picky, but they seem to have more energy compared to when I feed them a cheaper seed that’s made up of only normal millet.

I recommend buying this HARTZ Mountain small bird food online. In fact, it is the only place I can find it now and my parakeet much prefers HARTZ Mountain. I have known from 70 years experience that HARTZ MOUNTAIN is a superior product and these facts don't lie.

Unlike others, I did receive the 4lb bag (those who didn't need to contact Amazon for refund!).It's still a terrible value though. A 5lb bag of comparable seed is < $5 at Walmart. They have free pickup at stores and free 2 day shipping on orders over $35. I happened to need a couple of other things so ordered the seed too. It's actually arriving today so the shipping was actually one day!Note: I don't know what I'm going to do with 9 lbs of seed though, Lol. I tried to cancel this order but it was too late. I guess I'll freeze it and hope it doesn't ruin the nutrition or taste. My bird is picky and has health problems already (he gets supplements and fresh veggies so should be OK).
