Great ladder unless you have a wide body
I purchased this ladder originally for an elderly friend who needs to access higher storage areas in her kitchen. Although it looks rather lightweight, it is definitely heavier and more solidly built than you might surmise from the pictures. It's really too heavy for her to lug around her house.Fortunately, it's also very storage-friendly. It folds down to about only 2" in depth, so it can stay where it's needed without taking up much space. Or, you can keep it open and stack things on the steps, which is what she's now doing. So much for reaching high places...More recently, I ordered another for use in our studio. It's perfect for accessing books and items on our library wall and shelves. The hand rail extends well above the 3rd step, so it's great for support and stability. The 4th step is useful for really tall access, unless you start to reach too far from the center. Then, it gets unstable. The narrow steps work for both my wife and me. They may not work for you if you have a wider or heavier body type. The shorter Cosco stools are very nice too, but this is the only 4 step stool I could find that provides higher access. Also, a rubber boot on one leg was missing due to poor packaging from the Amazom vendor. The legs were sticking out of the package and the FedEx driver pushed them back into it as he dropped off the shipment. This is probably how the rubber boot fell off along the way. Fortunately, the manufacturer has an online site and customer support. They offer to send a replacement FREE OF CHARGE! Gotta love that!

The Handiest Step Stool Ever!
Skinny Mini step stools are awesome. They fold flat, are light weight, easy to carry around, and the 4-step version is tall enough to allow 5'2" me to change air filters or light bulbs in a 9' ceiling. I have one in the garage, one on each living level of the house, and HAD to have one for my office!

Heavier and sturdier than the earlier model (more expensive, too)
I bought an earlier version of this ladder at Home Depot for $40 seven years ago. We travel full time, and it folds down to a size that is easy on storage space. It has nice wide steps, which makes it easy on the feet as well.We wanted another one for our home base, so I bought this one from Amazon for about 40% more than I paid for the old one. It is substantially heavier than the old model, and the base is wider. It is not nearly as likely to pinch my fingers when I fold it as the old one is. Is is more stable, but it is a lot more work to carry it around the RV when doing windows, etc., and it takes a little more space to store. I think I'll leave the new one behind. It was very poorly wrapped for shipping. The "packaging" consisted of some plastic and paper wrapped around it. The feet were sticking out the bottom, and the paint was slightly scraped from a couple steps. There was only cosmetic damage, though.

Heavy and shelf has limited use
I found myself moving my 6ft ladder instead of moving this step ladder. Mainly because it is really heavy. I dont think it has any advantage over a 6ft ladder except that its not as tall. I am repainting my room, and I thought this would be easier to maneuver because I dont need the height. The shelf is a bit useless. Its only meant to hold cans, not a pan. It has these two release mechanisms on the side of the shelf that make it impossible to lay anything flat accross the shelf, and be steady. So forget about rolling your paint, and having the pan sit on the ladder with you. I would not recommend, If your looking for a step ladder, go for a lighter one.

Tricam Ladder from Amazon.com
I purchased this ladder to keep in my RV. It is sturdy so I can reach even the highest parts of my motorhome. It is very stable even when I stand on the top step. It is short enough to fit in the storage bay of my RV. Since I purchased the Tricam Skinny Mini Stool, I was able to get rid of a three-step stool and five foot ladder. It was a worthwhile investment.

Product is perfect - delivery was FUN
Very well built ladder and it IS skinny to store as advertised because everything folds up totally FLAT. Sturdy also fortunately, because it arrived (very quickly by the way) via FedEx home delivery at night in a box, well no it was two maybe three boxes taped together with some paper packing. The diminutive delivery lady was struggling down my driveway with paper and tape trailing her. We "unboxed" the ladder the rest of the way and checked for any obvious signs of any damage - none found. I bet she is still muttering to herself though about THAT delivery! Great ladder, good price and very fast delivery.

Husband had one of these and loved it, and couldn’t find one anywhere else after ...
Husband had one of these and loved it, and couldn’t find one anywhere else after he lent his to me. I found this one through Amazon, and now he’s got the new one and I have his old one. Go figure! It’s light enough for me (5’1”) to maneuver, but sturdy enough to feel safe on.
