A good mafia read!
Thanks to Audible Plus, I was introduced to this new author who I am really enjoying.Giovanni is a delicious mafioso who is looking for Emilia's brother. She is delightful and not bothered by him breaking into her apartment which intrigues him, so takes more of an interest than he should. Their chemistry is great and I enjoyed their banter. My only gripe is that the author draws the heroines to be a bit whiny and make really stupid decisions. There are also loose ends, e.g. what happens to his dad? It would also be good to have more mafia interaction. The narration was superb.

Great read
Although it was sad to see how, even in this day and age rape victims feel guilty and don’t seek professional help. The last confrontation between Emilia and her brother was just stupid. What was she thinking? Sad to say but her dad was already dead. Instead of running she should have called Giovanni or at least gone with someone. Actually was was up with that? He left her alone in the house with no protection? After all that she endured I can’t believe that she didn’t Learn self defense and to always have a weapon. Did she think she could just reason with him? The whole love think was weird too. Looked more like Stockholm syndrome. I would I’ve liked more interactions with Dominic and crew and lastly to know exactly what happened with his dad.

Dark, Gritty, Raw and Superb!
Natasha has written another 'mob' story, but this is like none of her other books. This book explores the tumultuous emotions of guilt, anger and betrayal. The two main characters are Giovanni and Emilia. Giovanni Santa Maria (don't you just love that name) is one heart thumping, pantie melting, sex on legs, dirty mouthed alpha that makes your libido do a happy dance. Emilia, once a cartel princess, filled with secrets and so broken by someone she should have been able to trust that she is breaking apart.Natasha has written one of the most moving 'break-downs' I have ever read. The abuse Emilia suffered is totally horrifying, but it is written with such depth and understanding that it is in no way titillating. Nothing is glossed over - the emotions are so raw they bleed. This truly is one dark, gritty story that has so many heart stopping moments that will make you pause so you can read that passage again.

Really enjoyed the book - it was everything you expect from a Natasha Knight book and so much more. Read this in one sittingH/h were suitably matched and the sex scenes were hot - I did laugh when Giovanni sent flowers to Emilia and the message he made the florist write down.SPOLIER ALERTMy only gripe is when Emilia is contacted by her brother (the reason she has gone into hiding), she doesn't contact Giovanni for assistance but rather leaves it to a taxi driver who may or may not pass on a message. She went unarmed thinking her bother had her father hostage. Did she think she and her father was going to come out of it alive, baring in mind everything said brother did to her??Other than that the books was fast passed and I wish it hadn't ended.

Brilliant. Dark and powerful.
Brilliant. Dark and powerful.Enjoyed the spin off to the Dark Mafia Romance series. Killian was so good, but this blew me away.Giovanni is not a man to mess with. Emilia’s been through so much and it’s about to get worse. This book goes so deep into both the world of Mafia and Cartel.A great series of books Natasha.

Brilliant
I loved reading this book, couldn't put it down until I had read the whole book. It's so sad what happened to Emilia. I'm glad Giovanni killed them all. Her brother was a psycho.
