Brass Rod AEPSB Ladder Pull System Kit Finish, Pack of 1

For years we’ve been living with the ugly rope pull that the builder left hanging from the attic access door in our home. After a while we stopped noticing it. One day when we needed to get into the attic, I took a good look at it and was embarrassed that we’d had the grubby thing hanging from the ceiling. I decided I had to do something about it even if it was to simply buy a new, clean rope. After looking around I found this ladder pull system and couldn’t believe all this time there was a perfect, attractive solution at such a reasonable cost. Also, the whole thing was quick and easy to install. We have a bathroom in the hall below the access door, so we hung the hook behind that door on a two-inch wide bit of wall between the corner and the door frame. It’s like the spot was made for it and you usually wouldn’t even notice it there, but it’s easy to access when we need it. I honestly doubt anyone even notices the new gold ring on the ceiling either, but I’ll bet they noticed that ugly, dirty rope. One small negative was that the wood pull was badly warped but it works well, it’s hidden behind the door, and it was very reasonably priced, so we just kept it.

I have an attic access in my closet and did not want the string hanging down so purchase this hook and stick. It works great. I love the gold.

This is a great concept and getting rid of the cord (or whatever you may use that dangles) is a plus. The quality is really nice - I'm an engineer and fairly particular with stuff so I was pleasantly surprised. The rod is straight with no warping - it's nicely finished and the rubbery end grip is nice as well. The tip on mine IS pointed just like the photo shows, one reviewer said theirs wasn't. The hardware is nice with a decent weight of the pieces - they are individually wrapped so nothing gets damaged in transit.I noted some reviewers complaining about having to buy extra washers, etc. but remember that each installation can be unique depending on your attic door. So a trip to the hardware store to customize it, and get it right, is not a big deal to me.It arrived absolutely fine, even considering its odd size. The rod/package is enclosed in a thickish plastic bag which is packed inside a long cardboard box with some padding inside.I would buy this again for sure.

Don’t know why it took me so long to find this hook and rod. It is so much nicer then having the string hanging in the middle of our upstair’s hallway. Very easy to install, sturdy and works perfectly. Love that the rod comes with a hook to hang it to store as well.

Product works fine.. But it came without the storage hook and when you click on support you get nowhere.. Blew the 5 star rating..SMH

The look of this item. It's so much more updated than the old pull down rope. The wooden pully can be stored near the attic for convenience.

I have a stiff attic stair that requires some force to pull down, and the rope hurt my hand. This is sturdy, easy to install, and makes pulling that stair down very easy! Also convenient to store in a hallway closet near the stair door. Plus, it eliminates an unsightly rope hanging down from the stair in my hallway.

Who knew it would make such an impact on our hallway?Our house was built in the 1930s, so it's full of old details and touches -- and this brass pull looks like it's original to the house!But it's not just a classy antique detail. It's also incredibly practical, and pulls down our ladder just as easily as the rope did.The rod hook is great too!
