The Winterhouse Mysteries (Winterhouse, 3)

Good Ending to Trilogy
The Winterhouse novels engage the reader's imagination, and the final book in the trilogy (although I'd like to read more about Elizabeth and Freddy) delivers. All of the characters are present, and there is the right amount of suspense without the gore. And the illustrations are as spectacular as ever! The one fault is that the author fell over himself trying to tie everything up. In doing so, the last quarter of the book dragged. But the results (no spoilers here!) were satisfying. Recommended for Winterhouse fans!

My 5th grade loved it
He likes mystery books so of course he wanted to give this one a read. I think it's one of his favorites so far (he's read all 3 now).

a brand new classic
Sooner or later, this book will become a classic of our time. The illustrations and writing combine powerfully. The gorgeous aboriginal art reflects the mood of our world, what we now face as parents and children in dark and changing times. The writing rises lightly through that, gifted with subtle rhythms. The story is about goals and how friendship can carry us from an overreaching failure to what fits us which can even be the simple joy of splashing in a wet and second moon.

What a fun and suspenseful read!
Great read! All the books in the series are well written, and the suspenseful and sometimes scary story that unfolds slowly and masterfully is age appropriate for young readers.
