They do the trick and are much cheaper than alternatives

Okay, first things first. This is a very solid value for 5 make up sponges. They are large, soft, and easy to clean. Nice quality overall. Does a decent job with application, I’m not displeased with them.Why 4 stars you ask? Let me start this part of the review with a caveat: if you’ve never used the original, beauty blender, you would rate these 5 stars, hands down, no question.With that in mind… I, however, have never used anything except the original beauty blender and decided to give these babies a try because for the price, why not?! So, when comparing these to the actual beauty blender (as many who have provided reviews already have) these are not quite as effective. These, although don’t seem to suck up my foundation, I do need to use more than I do with the beauty blender. Not egregiously so, but still more. Similarly, these sponges don’t seem to carry the foundation as far. By contrast, The surface area seems to hold more water- and no, I’m not talking within the sponge, I’m talking lateral surface area. It took me a few tries to figure out exactly how wet/ dry my sponge needed to be in order to not counter act my foundation, ie not blot it off. This is in fairly stark comparison to the beauty blender, which I just wet and squeeze without thought and start dabbing.Overall, these are a very nice value for the money. If, however, you expect these to perform exactly like a beauty blender, they do not. Honestly, I would have never guessed that there would be any notable differences between the expensive blender and these, but there truly is. I’ll still use them as they are still nice sponges, but just not as effective as the bb.

Have purchased multiple times. You don’t need expensive beauty blenders. Low cost so you can change them out frequently and avoid spreading bacteria all over your face, unlike with beauty brushes!

Let me start by saying I love makeup. I have done makeup for weddings and many formal events, which means I am always keeping my eyes peeled for quality products. For that reason, I love these beauty blenders and will repurchase them indefinitely. For the price they just can't be beat. Prior to these sponges I was using the Real Techniques beauty sponges and I liked them, but would find that they would fall apart so soon. These Beakey sponges feel high-end and I am not disappointed. I love to wash my beauty blender before every makeup application, and these beauty blenders have held up so well with no tearing or flaking, even after 2 months (considering that I wash it everyday, this is amazing to me).The size of the sponge is very universal. I get my clean beauty blender damp (not wet) and I use it to apply my foundation, concealer, and then set with powder. Works great with cream, liquid, and dry products when sponge is damp!A heads up as you are first adjusting to this product: The sponges need a little bit of "breaking into". Before using it the first time, I washed it well under warm/hot water and it helped loosen the sponge. The longer I have used it the more soft it has become. Before breaking it in, however, I noticed no difference in how well the sponge worked or how it applied the makeup, just how the sponge felt.My washing technique: I wash under running hot/warm water and rub it into a bar of soap (I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar) and squeeze out the makeup, working in small sections of the sponge at a time. After makeup color is gone, the sponge has that fresh, bounce-back clean feel just as it was new. To apply makeup, I take the clean, wet sponge and squeeze it in a clean cloth until it is just damp. With the sponge damp, it works wonders to achieve flawless, cake-less makeup every time; whether I'm going for a full face or a natural look, it does it all.

For the price this is a deal, their not as good as the real beauty blenders but they get the job done and the colors are fun
