Skin Boost
Like many people, I am intrigued by the Korean skin care regime. One of the key additions that sets the Korean skin care routine apart from my own was the addition of a product called “face essence.” I have tried a few cleansing waters in the past, and a toner is still in my standard routine but I was interested in this product to see what kind of “boost” it would give my skin. While it is difficult to pin point exactly what this adds, I can say my skin in more smooth and absorbs product a little better. I have also noticed it take off the last remaining make-up particles, and dirt that my cleanser and toner miss. I use this after my toner, before applying a night serum then moisturizer.Because the product ingredients are in Korean, I am unable to pin-point what exactly is in this product. However, I am assuming there is a low alcohol content as my skin does not dry out after using it. Additionally, this product does a wonderful job removing excess oil that is left on my skin.I would recommend this to a skin-care junkie (like myself) who is looking to add a new product to their routine. I give this a four and not a five star because I think the price is a little high, a price point of $18- $20 is more realistic.Skin Type: 20-something, oily, acne prone, fee lines, semi pigmented

Great for brightening and evening skin tone
UPDATE: I'm about 1 month into this Intensive Moist version and see no difference versus the Intensive version. Also note that the tretinoin cream has made my very sensitive skin into ULTRA sensitive skin and this still does not burn or affect my skin negatively at all.I started delving into the kbeauty world about 3-4 months ago. I had already had pretty nice skin naturally, but wanted to even my skin tone and find something to get rid of the pink areas on my face. For some reason, absolutely nothing that I had tried actually helped with the pinkness on my nose and cheeks. Sometimes someone would ask me if I got a little sunburnt, but that was just hyperpigmentation.... :/Anyhow, I jumped into kbeauty much too fast for my very sensitive skin to handle and ended up having the biggest breakout of my entire life. Cystic acne, whiteheads, angry red volcanoes, all over my face, and especially my forehead. Finally, I went to the dermatologist who put me on tretinoin cream and doxycycline hyclate (oral antibiotic). He told me to stop using everything and get a gentle face cleanser like Cetaphil. So, I stopped everything. And you know how extensive those kbeauty routines are. But then after just a couple days I started noticing my face getting HORRIBLY dull. It had absolutely no glow, the skin almost looked darker and, I'm not sure, thick? Kind of like when you get really dark from the sun and your skin is thick and tough instead of soft and smooth and glowy. So, on a leap of faith, I started using the MISSHA Time Revolution Essence again, and voila, my skin was glowing again, the pinkness was pretty much gone (mind you, the ONLY product I've ever noticed has actually gotten rid of my pinkness), and my skin tone was even (except of course for all the acne....). Even though I'm still dealing with the tretinoin initial breakout (I'm about 6 weeks into this treatment), I can tell you that the skin that doesn't have any acne looks amazing and healthy, and this essence has been helping a lot with fading repercussions of my major breakout. One last note: I've seen others complain about the Essence being Intensive Moist now. While it's true that they've taken out a lot of botanical ingredients from the Intensive version, they've also put in 10% more of the fermented goodness (sacromyces), which is the main source of why this essence is so great at brightening your skin. The moist version has 90% fermented goodness compared to 80%. This isn't necessarily a cheaper product, it's the third generation of Time Revolution. The second generation was the Intensive version, and now that they've released this new generation, they'll likely discontinue the second generation version. I haven't yet tried the moist version (I'm about 1 week away from finishing my Intensive version bottle), so I really can't attest to its quality compared to the second generation, but I really haven't seen any of the kbeauty bloggers complain about the change.

Wonderous product I cannot live without!
o, first things first, what exactly is the Missha Time Revolution: The First Treatment Essence? It’s an essence, but not in the typical serum-y type essence. It has the consistency of a toner. What makes it different than a “regular” toner is that this essence is meant to be moisturizing, instead of an astrigent. Are you looking for a product that will give you even, glowing, radiant skin? Well, this is the s*** for you.I purchased the Missha First Treatment Essence after reading a good deal about the famed Korean skin care regime with all of its steps - it seemed that most reviewers had nothing but praise for this particular essence. I could not have told you what an essence DOES but it was pretty clear it is a crucial step in this routine. So I bought the one I read the most about and I have to say -- believe the hype!I know that Missha Essence is a dupe for the VERY expensive SKII Facial Treatment Essence. The SKII version costs about $150. The Missha version costs about $30. I have used both and truly I cannot tell the difference. So yay for saving $120!How exactly does one use the Missha First Treatment essence? You are supposed to apply it IMMEDIATELY after washing your face. Some people use cotton pads to apply it but I just splash it on my hands and then my face and pat pat pat. It absorbs immediately and I feel like my skin is extra clean and primed for whatever step comes next.I believe this product is suitable for all skin types - I have normal skin with the occasional breakout and definitely dryness in the winter. I used to be quite concerned about uneven skin tone. Well I don't know if this is all in my head or what but seriously two weeks after I started using the essence people started commenting that I looked really refreshed. More than a few people told me I was GLOWING. I'm going to go ahead and guess the essence was the game changer here - I love the rest of the Korean skincare ritual but the essence is really where I feel like I've upped my game. And this essence is absolutely perfect as is so I imagine I will be buying it for quite some time. The bottle lasts a long time and I use the product VERY liberally. I have even purchased the travel size bottles so I do not have to leave this step of my routine behind when I travel.I highly recommend Missha's The First Treatment Essence. Believe the hype and buy it!!
