If you experience teeth grinding and clenching, you are not alone. There is approximately 8% of the population suffers from sleep bruxism (Lavigne et al., 2008) and the related symptoms of facial pain, insomnia, and tooth damage. Major cause of bruxism is stress (Giraki et al., 2010), and it can be very difficult to cure. You, as many other sufferers, might be looking for a way to get help for your symptoms rather than a full cure. To protect your teeth and reduce symptoms, most dentists suggest a custom night mouth guard. Dental guards are very effective for sleep bruxism. The most obvious benefit of a teeth guard is the protection it will provide for your tooth enamel. Your teeth are composed of a layer of hard protective enamel covering a layer of dentin which protects the cluster of nerves and blood vessels at the heart of the tooth. Long-term untreated bruxism can erode your teeth through both the enamel and dentin to expose the pulp of nerves and vessels. Not only does this compromise the integrity of your teeth, but can also lead to intense pain. When a dentist proscribes a night guard for your bruxism, they will usually suggest a custom guard costing anywhere from $300-$500. To protect your teeth, the cost might seem worthwhile, but it isn't necessary. Impressive Smiles’ professional TEETH PROTECTOR can give you an equally effective and significantly less expensive option.

Good for obstructive sleep apnea/grinding.
I have a custom-made acrylic device from my dentist to present sleep apnea from my tongue blocking my airway. I also severely grind my teeth so I have broken this device numerous times. This time I decided to purchase this mouth guard to use while my device is being fixed again.I read other reviews and jutted my lower jaw out as far as it could go while setting the mold. This is basically what my acrylic device does, just in a fancier way. I have found that this mouth guard works very well for that purpose and have had several good sleeps because of it. I'm not sure how long it will last as it is already deteriorating because of my intense grinding but for the price, it definitely does the job and I will buy another one as a replacement just in case.

I didn't like it at all because it is too bulky in your mouth and makes your mouth stay open all night, and gives you the feeling of you're being choked. I suggest that they separate the top and bottom jaws, it's the connection of the two at the end of your throat that makes you gag and feel suffocated. Thank youNKalhor

It is a good product so far
It is a good product so far. Only problem I had was that of molding it got a little hard to do when I fumbled it. But the container is handy and the number of times I used it, it has been a great night teeth guard.

Will have to try to warm it up again and see if I can get a better fit.
Not sure if the water was too hot to form to mouth but was a pain unforming it when it stuck together. Will have to try to warm it up again and see if I can get a better fit.

Huge.
Apparently the people who like this have gigantic mouths. I can't even shut my mouth with it in. There is way too much material and it's incredibly uncomfortable. It actually hurts my jaw to use this mouth guard.

I found it too hard and uncomfortable.
I found it too hard and uncomfortable. I have a small mouth so it may suit someone with a larger mouth

Worth it, but not a real solution.
Only if your desperate. I lost my professionally made set of apnea dental guards and tried these to get my through while I waited for the replacements to be made. They help but don't mold tight and don't stay in place. They are better than nothing.Ultimately I bought guards for $200 as back ups and for travel (I lost my last good set) and permanent professional ones for over $2000. Both were custom made by an expert.I would still buy these again in the same situation as they are definitely better than nothing.Follow the molding directions carefully. Test fit them before you put them in the boiling water because when you mold them, for apnea, you need to be able to really put your lower jaw forward. That way, in your sleep you will open the airway the best.Depending on the process, you may actually be unable to re-mold them satisfactorily if you don't get a strong enough under-bite the first time.

Insoddisfatta
Troppo spesso per riuscire a tenerlo in bocca tutta la notte. È spesso tra i denti e rimane la bocca completamente aperta, in più è spessa anche la parte interna e va a spingere sulle gengive all interno.
