Just BUY it!
Wow, I highly recommend this charger! It has saved my Trojans that were in jeopardy from the stupid EZGO Powerwise QE that stopped working when my 2011 EZGO turned 5yrs old (2016). This charger is MADE IN USA and a top quality very heavy and well made machine that is performing perfectly for my EZGO TXT 48V golf cart with 6x8v Trojans. It is well worth the price for prolonging the life of such expensive batteries and will thus pay-for-itself over and over if it serves as well as it looks like it will for a very long time! I understand it has user-replaceable components so if something does fail over time, you don't have to buy a whole new one like with the Powerwise QE that is NOT user serviceable due to having to diagnose & program it with a computer.

I bought this charger after my Ezgo charger failed. ...
I bought this charger after my Ezgo charger failed. The specs and review seemed favorable, and I wanted a charger that would maintain charge, when the cart was left unattended. I ordered it and installed it end of December 2016. My initial feeling was positive as it charged the batteries well, but the casing was always hot. As the months passed we noticed that our electric bill increased significantly ( on average up by over 1200 KW per month). Contacted the power company but they could not identify any issues with power lines, meters, etc. Still the charger runs hot at all times. Today, I contacted DPI customer support and discussed the issue and they thought the increase was very high, but did not feel it was the charger. They could not give me the monthly running usage, but stated that the charger draws 0.5 amps in maintain mode and increases when on full charge. When calculated out that means with a minimum constant charge of 0.5 amps, 24 hours per day for 30 days power usage is in excess of 1,200 Kwatts, which is a lot of power to maintain charge level. On further checking they have a optional model (1R-48C017E42-00) with a switch off relay to remove power when the batteries are charged and switch on as required. Unfortunately, the model I have (1-48C017E42-00) cannot be upgraded.

The best golf cart battery charger you can buy
The best golf cart battery charger you can buy! Why is this one special? First, understand that different brand batteries require different charging algorithms or profiles. The OEM charger provided with your cart may or may not match the brand of battery OEM's installed or perhaps the batteries were swapped out for another brand. The DPI has small jumpers to select the proper algorithm to match different major battery brands. Second, the DPI provides 4 stages of charge - bulk, absorption, and float, and a recharge feature every 28 days for a cart sitting unused. The batteries will remain on a float charge keeping them in peak charge but will get refreshed after 28 days of idle. The footprint of this charger is fairly small as compared to others yet it is heavy duty. The ammeter is helpful in monitoring the charge and the batteries overall condition. Flashing fault codes let you know when and what might be going wrong -- over charge, over heat, reverse polarity, etc. My original OEM charger was mismatched to my pack and consistently undercharged them thus shortening their life. When I replaced the batteries I bought this charger, set the jumpers to match my new battery brand and have not looked back. BTW, made in the USA isn't bad either. And DPI customer service is the best!

all good. Called DP
This product worked right out of the box. Followed the manual, checked the jumpers for the correct batteries, plugged it in and all the indicators were correct with respect to charging. The initial charge cycle was long as my old, defective unit was not working properly and eventually quit. My battery pack received a full charge with respect to current and voltage. Wow! What a difference a quality charger makes! I can now run the cart for a full 18 holes and still have a lot left. After my first charge and then running the cart for 5 or 6 miles I plugged in for a recharge. Problem. Only the "power" red LED came on and flashed every second indicating a fault. Checked all the batteries with a digital voltmeter...all good. Called DP! tech support and they got a hold of their supplier that shipped the unit to me and arranged for an immediate replacement. They were fast and very courteous. Being a retired electronics engineer I kept checking this unit out. Turns out the problem was with my electrical outlet. No problem with the charger. Replaced the defective wall outlet, plugged in the charger to the cart and...full charge. Many thanks to DPI tech support and Car Partners, LLC, there product suppliers for their quick response. So far, so good.

To Early To Tell, But...
Quick Delivery, Easy to use. At first the charger only had the power light on and would not charge the batteries to later find out that they were completely dead and needed to be charged individually. After charging them separately the accusense charger worked perfectly. i haven't had it for long so the longevity is in question.

5 Stars Out of the Box
I couldn't be happier than I am with this charger. Paying a little more money brought great value and it works amazingly well. I believe strongly it will help me get a year or two more out of my golf cart batteries which provide for a greater return on a large investment. Prior to purchasing the charger, I contacted the customer service Represenative to talk to him about why their charger is better than competitive chargers. He was very informative and took time to answer all my questions. This is a high-quality product and you know it the minute you take it out of the box.
