No quick fix
Mary Rabyor's book is an exhaustive first-person account of the beginning of her Kundalini awakening. Candid and open about her faults and missteps, she makes it clear that what she has written is her experience and her interpretation of that experience. She takes extensive time (three years) off from daily life to explore and facilitate her work; most of the text is taken from her notes during the first year of her retreat. The detail and repetition of her account can be overwhelming and a bit mind-numbing, but as the journey unfolds we see her progress from using Reiki and acupressure to facilitate and, somewhat, try to manage the process to a much more deliberate form of surrender to the energy itself. We see her hope for a speedy resolution to the matter fade as she does so and share in her disappointment; we feel her physical pain, her despair at being pushed to her limit and not knowing if she can go on, and her sense of isolation. Despite the trials, Rabyor doesn't make heavy going of her difficulties. They are recorded matter of factly, along with the occasional wry observation about the state of her coiffure after a few particularly intense sessions. While the journey of Kundalini awakening is almost insanely idiosyncratic there are, at the same time, certain signs and occurrences that seem to play out in one way or another for almost everyone. Rabyor's exquisite sensitivity to the sensations in her body make this account unlike any other I've read. It's an honest, vulnerable, and generous addition to the literature.

A very sincere and honest effort
The author is totally open on her journey, touching on very personal and private experiences. This takes away a lot of misconceptions and fear along the path of awakening. These experiences are usually not well understood or presented in religious context. I appreciate her sincerity and openness. Just want to record my sincere appreciation here.

Our Light Body
I wourld like to see more books on this subject. The first part of the book is focused too much on the authors opinion of the ego and our personality, but i found her journal interesting and true based on my own experiences.

Proceed with caution...
I thought the first part of this book was quite good. But the second part - a personal blow-by-blow very detailed journal of bizarre physical body changes was just too weird for me. I'm guessing the author had some pretty serious health problems, and that most people would not go through as much bizarre stuff as this.Get some medical and psychological support, if stuff like this starts happening! Going off by yourself for long periods of time is probably not a good idea! But that said, I respect the author and her journey, and her willingness to talk about all that she went through. Every person's path is unique. Wishing you all the best Mary Rabyor...

What the Fluck ?
Went to a Modern Art Show, saw a huge indescribable pink IT..My mind stopped, this Thingee was beyond words and thoughts..Why can't body be sensed as the way IT is/was?. Thats what the book is about..the rest is commentary..

THIS BOOK MIGHT SAVE YOUR SANITY.
If nothing is making sense in your life, and your body has weird symptoms this book might explain it. Go to the authors website and review it. When you understand it you will be encouraged by what it means.

Pops and cracks keep happening.
I think the book talks about an important subject and there is good information in it (though nowadays you can find most of it just by doing a little bit of googling). I bought the book after reading good reviews here in Amazon, so I was not able to properly look inside before buying, I was curious so I bought it anyway. Mostly the book is more of a technical journal than a regular book. I really don't know what would someone do with all the information about every pop and crack that happened in the authors body at a certain time of the day...and it goes on and on. I really wonder what is the purpose? A lot of text does not make a good book. I will truly salute the person who will read all this repetitious ranting (I'm sorry I really could not come up with a nicer word) all the way through staying interested and not getting stressed themselves. She probably has a good reason why she did no editing, but I just feel she wanted to make a book as fast as possible as a side product of her kundalini awakening to make some money. Even the pictures are really messy and seem to be drawn fast. Probably she just scanned them straight out of the journal and no editing there either, supports the fast money theory... or then just pure sloppy.Even the beginning, before the journal part, does not impress me. It's seems to be for someone who has no basic knowledge about spirituality, enlightenment related matters and kundalini. I'm not saying it's wrong to write about the basics, I'm just giving information for the more advanced readers who might be considering buying this book. Also the way in which all the information is presented does not resonate with me. I have been reading many spiritual books and I have come to notice you can feel the energy of the author whilst reading. I prefer the books (about spiritual matters) where the author manages to give something more than just dry preaching and teaching + plain detailistic information and you can feel the flow and the fresh energy through the words, even if talked about painful experiences: the writer works as a channel between the reader and higher levels of experience/existence. It does not happen in this book (at least for me), or if so in some parts, it just gets cluttered in all the endless dry ranting. There is probably good info about reiki and acupressure in the book, though I can not truly comment because I have no expertise in either one. But it too would be better presented in some other form than a journal which has every minor detail of what happened and when (believe me there is plenty). Who has the time and strength to go through it all and look for important parts when we are living in the middle of this general information overload in the world? It would be better if one person would do it (meaning the writer) than many when it comes to selecting the parts that actually give something valuable to someone. I truly believe we don't really need to hear about every single pop and crack in her body. The most ironic part is that the book ends quite suddenly...(there is no final words or any conclusion) but the last sentence is "To be continued..." Helpful
Well written, concise and in-depth. Explained to me everything I need to understand about this experience. The book has given me more assistance than any other reference material on a variety of platforms that I have come across since my own experience started 18 months ago.Thank you for writing this book.

Interesting book
I have not fully read this book but so far what I read tells how we know so little of ourselves and an eye opener of who we are spiritually. I am sure there will be lots more that I will be pleased to read about. Glad \ bought this book.
