I'm giving this luggage lock four stars four a couple of reasons. 1) I found it much more difficult to change the code than other luggage locks I have purchased. Most others (with a solid shank) you just turn the shank 180 Degrees and change the code. On this one, you had to use a pen to depress a button, then turn the dials to change the code. It was almost a two person job, but I managed to get it done. 2) In my opinion, the numbers on the dials are in reverse order. When I spin the dials up, I expect the numbers to get higher (or count up). On this, when you spin the dials up, it counts down. You eventually get to the number you want, but it's just a little strange to me.The good things about this is the flexible, wire shaft. It is bigger than many of the solid shafts out there and can easily go into more places than the other luggage locks. This wire can probably be cut if someone really wanted to get into it, but hopefully if someone really wants to go through someone else's luggage, they will pass over mine and go to the next persons.I received this item at a discount for my honest review.

Pro: - Sturdy, heavy material - Has a cable rather than a metal loop. This allows for flexibility of use. - The passcode can be set to any 3 digit combination code. - Is TSA approved. This means it has a key hole that (I assume) is made to fit the key used by TSA to check bags without having to compromise the lock by cutting it.Cons: - The lock only has 3 digits. I wish it have one or 2 more. This will increase the probability since it adds a multitude of possible combinations. - The cable is great for flexibility but it is definitely not sturdy. I'm sure you can cut this off with a pair of cheap cutters.*Note: I purchased this orifice at a discount in exchange for an honest, unbiased review*

I received this lock today and can tell it is a heavy duty lock.It was a little difficult to set and the numbers are a little hard to twist, but it also makes it so the numbers stay in place and are not constantly moving around. I like how easy it is to open. When pressing the button the wire just pops up so there is no need to struggle trying to get it open. The thin wire is also heavy duty but thin enough to go through the zippers.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. I will be updating this review after my two week stay in Italy to see if I am still satisfied with this lock. So far, I love it and think it should work great!UPDATE:I recently went on a two week vacation to Italy and used this lock for the bag I wanted to check. This lock worked amazing! I would recommend it to anyone, especially if going out of the country to keep things safe. It is very durable, the lock opens easily, and the numbers turn easily but no easily that they change all the time. It is great to have one of these on hand to store anything important in a locked suitcase. I felt like my belongings were very safe using this lock.It is also a TSA approved lock. Before going on my trip I had little knowledge of what TSA approved even meant. Well on the way home from my vacation, after checking my bag into the airport, my bag was searched with this lock on. When I arrived at home there was a note inside of my suitcase saying it was randomly selected to be checked. With this lock, there was no need to cut it open because there is a small key hole in the bottom of it. This makes it easy for the airport to open it if they need to. Other than that, my bag was safe my entire trip. Even when we stayed in a B&B that had a sign saying "we are not responsible for any items stolen from your room". Amazing buy! Highly recommended!

I'm going to be traveling in a few months so I really wanted a good lock for my backpack since I will be staying in mostly hostels and holding a lot of valuable photography equipment. The packaging is in another language as well as english so it was a little bit of a struggle at first to understand. But once I was able to figure it out and it works great, and fits perfectly with my backpack.There is the plus that this lock is TSA approved. It also has a key lock at the bottom and no key so I assume that's how TSA can open the lock instead of breaking it. Overall a great product that works!
