Let Me Tell You Something: Life as a Real Housewife, Tough-Love Mother, and Street-Smart Businesswoman

Very enjoyable, conversational book
Everyone to his or her own taste, I suppose. I enjoy Caroline Manzo tremendously, and I wonder what show those who seem to hate her are watching. I also wonder what would motivate someone to spend their time online trashing another human being whom they don't even know personally. We all have our own opinions, but spreading vitriol just for the sake of doing so? I'm a mother, a businessowner and a homeowner. I don't have time to waste on things or people I dislike -- why make myself miserable?Having said that, I am taking a moment to support someone I do like very much, and I liked her book as well. Is Caroline perfect? She would be the first one to tell you that she is not. Caroline's book is literally like listening to her speak, with her cusomary common-sense approach. I had the great pleasure of seeing her at Barnes & Noble in New York City last week at a book signing, and witnessed with my own eyes her spontaneousness and openness. As she retold a story from her book, she openly wept. Others who were listening were also moved by the story, including myself. I was very impressed with her honesty, with her willingness to be vulnerable in front of a group of strangers, and with her obviously genuine warmth toward the people who came to see her. Caroline was particularly lovely to my eleven-year-old daughter, who adores her.I wish Caroline success with this book, and I thank her for her example of sincerity, humility and living with a grateful heart. I hope for her sake that she didn't write this book, as some reviewers suggest here, to clean up her reputation or polish her image. From where I'm sitting, there's nothing to clean up or polish, and those who indulge in hate will continue to do so. I do feel for her, as I do for everyone in the public eye; the Internet has devolved into a war zone wherein personal attacks are the norm, and verbal battery is a spectator sport. I wish you all some peace and kindness in your hearts and in your lives.

Caroline Manzo: At Her Best...
Caroline Manzo's celebrity memoir features 6 parts: Public Property, Traditions, Kids, Love, Body and Life. Within these passages she discusses her loyal yet intrusive fans, and fan mail. There are large amounts of footage filmed for RHONJ and very little of it is actually used in the show. One fan had a $900.00 jacket delivered to her home as a gift. Her family met Bill Clinton once, and she encouraged her kids to talk to him. She went to a dinner party where George Clooney and Kate Hudson attended.Holiday traditions with family celebrations are covered and favorite recipes are shared with readers. Manzo is very happy and proud of her 30 plus year marriage to her husband Albert, her adult children Albie, Christopher, Lauren, and her home- as any mother would be. She states that she is her kids mother and not their friend. In "Ask Caroline": fans seek her direction and advice. Manzo openly discusses topics of engagements, weddings, (don't be Bridezella), adultery, her 2 miscarriages, and the death of her father-in-law from mysterious circumstances in 1983. Also added are photos and inspiring Affirmations.Manzo regards RHONJ as her 15 minutes of fame, a pretty realistic viewpoint. Celebrity Memoirs are usually highly profitable for publishers and this book is probably no exception. I haven't ever seen RHONJ, yet found "Let Me Tell You Something" to be very good, informative, uplifting, and entertaining.

It's her, just as she is.
I don't know what some people were expecting, but to me this book came across Like Caroline Manzo. Real. When she first spoke of the book she told her viewers that she was going to write from her perspective a little bit of this a little bit of that. This is what we got. If you expected cattiness, go seek elsewhere . There are plenty of housewives willing to go in the gutter with you. I am proud of her for not bowing down and drinking from that cesspool.One thing I can say, is that as I read the book, I didn't always agree with her. In fact , there were some opinions and reasons for her doing and saying things that I vehemently oppose, but I admired her courage to say them and stick by them.If you are a fan of Caroline Manzo ,the one we have seen in seasons past (not this past season, she had issues! WHEW!) Then you will enjoy this book.Oh check out her sauce recipe it is spool good as is the soup. Muah!

Caroline has definitely told me something!
I absolutely loved this book. Caroline's view on family and life is such an inspiration. Sh'e honest and holds nothing back when speaking her truth. I took a lot from this book and have already started to implement some of her advise such as making "family time" a priority. Especially with family dinner. Getting my daughters involved with the process, as supposed to doing all of the work alone. Cooking is great bonding time. This was something I did as a young girl with my mother and aunts. So this was something I realized I wasn't doing nearly enough with my own girls. Also, making it a point to share a meal with my family to catch up with each other everyday if possible, as we all have very different schedules. During this time we give each other our undivided attention, uninterrupted by electronics of any kind, etc. I have also implemented "Sunday dinners" at my home for all of my siblings and their families. This has become the greatest bonding time for all of us. I could honestly go on and on about this book. Instead I will let you read it and see for yourself what a great book this truly is. Happy reading...

let me tell you....
Really enjoyed this book. Read it twice now and each time I pick up something more from it. Caroline was always my favourite RHONJ cast member and I probably like her more now. like her honesty and there is nothing fake. This book is exactly how she comes across on TV but just a little bit more personal. Only gave it 4 stars as it probably isn't the best book in the world. But I certainly enjoyed it and learnt some lessons in life along the ways
