No, Paul they are not bite proof, they are good for non-poisonous snakes. The do make a snake glove for poisonous snakes but they are more expensive. These gloves are very good but I would have to draw a limit and not say they are bite proof.

To be honest since we bought these we haven't had to use them. However they seem like they would be. I would be confident using them. Try to take as much precaution to prevent the bite bit I feel like they would hold up to a snake, cat or dog bite as far as penetration through goes.
