Very well made whip
When it first arrived it was nice and stiff, as it had not been broken in. I applied a coat of mink oil (which is essential) and the next day had a lot of friends trying it out. It cracks very well, is durable, well made and very nice to look at. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like their first whip or to people well versed if you need an extra that is worth the money. Thank you Ardour crafts !

Know what to expect, don't be an id**t
At $25 it's a value whip. That said, for what it is, it's a good value. I enjoyed working it in and it feels ok. The cracker is just a bit too long for my liking so I shortened it.Let me address the negative reviews: No I haven't received any compensation for this review, I just really think this whip is getting a lot of hate because people have beer budgets and champagne taste. I love whips. So much so that I have a whip collection with costs ranging from $100-$400. So what do you expect for 25 bucks? Did you somehow expect that a 25 dollar whip is going to be as good as a masterfully crafted 400 dollar kangaroo leather whip? If so, you need to check your expectations and come back to the real world. If you want a whip for less than $80-$100 dollars you're getting a cheap whip. I'd even qualify a $100 leather 4 foot whip as fairly low-cost.Pros:-It's cheap. $25 for anything more than a cosmetic costume whips is incredibly low-cost.-The leather is durable enough to use it, especially if you take care of it.-It's not bad. It's a fairly middling experience, but reference above for why I still give it 4 stars.-It would make a great first whip for someone who is wanting to learn to throw a whip but not spend a bunch of money to do so.-The action is fairly easy, it doesn't take much to get a crack out of it once it's worked in.Cons:-The leather isn't super-durable. Don't use it on rough ground (gravel/dirt/asphalt/concrete) or you'll likely damage it over time. This advice isn't unique to this whip though.-The leather needs to be oiled and cared for. This isn't just this whip, it's any leather whip.-It's not great. But it's also not bad. For an experienced aficionado you'll feel very "meh" about it for it's price.-The cracker is too long for my taste, but that's easily remedied by shortening it. There are tons of how-to's on the internet.-The action isn't as easy or smooth as my $300+ whips. But that's to be expected for something that is less than 10% of the cost. After having worked this whip in, I intend to give this as a gift to a friend as their first whip since they want to learn to throw whips and see if they like it. And this makes a perfect introductory low-cost whip for them to see if the hobby is something they want to pursue. When buying this whip know what to expect: This is a low-cost functional whip. It feels ok in the hand, after about 20 minutes of work the whip starts to feel better and snap easier which is to be expected. It's leather. Get used to having to work a new whip if you are buying leather. You know when you buy a pair of new leather boots you have to break them in? Whips are the same way. So take some time to work it in. Use some oil to soften the leather and work it and throw it for a while and it will start to feel much better than it first did. This goes for any leather whip, not just this one.

Things you should know before purchasing this product.
After buying this product without doing any research, I learned that this product wasn't designed for Indiana Jones nostalgia and that it is actually made for "other" uses. Considered canceling, but in the end I decided not to.The product arrives a little stiff, but is loosened up with little to no struggle. It is harder than other whips to crack at first due to its length, but once you learn the technique it is easy as pie.It seems short for a bullwhip, but it's made like that on purpose for "Indoor" use. This whip cracks, and it cracks loud. I highly suggest you do NOT crack it at another person unless you intend to break skin.

ARDOUR 4 foot long 08 plait genuine real leather
Not worth $ 26.99.The picture is very misleading. Appears to be much higher quality. And don't get it wet the dye will come off on your hands. Basically a show piece. The cracker is thin nylon and starts to fall apart after just a few cracks. The cracker is not securely attached and fly's off easy. This is not my first whip. Some things need to be seen in person before buying.Again do not trust the picture it is VERY deceiving.
