Great maps, great price!
Got this for my wife who loves geography and country facts. She LOVES it, so I am a happy camper also.😁. The smaller size enables her to take it along in the car easily.

Not as described
Description states 256 pages but it's only 65. Perhaps the weight of the item is accurate but that's all. Nice maps, thick pages, but not what I was expecting because of the inaccurate description.

small print
It has good information but the print is very small making it difficult to use.

High quality and useful for the price but Anglo and Eurocentric
Of course the publisher is British but one should think that they would want readers to learn something about the world. Europeans, including the British, and most Americans have not got the memo. The rest of the world is not as poor and backward as it was 50 years ago. The population of the rest of the world is growing more than our own. Political strife accompanies climate change and population growth. Unwisely our elites invade through useless good intentions to restore order. Don't we want to know where all this is going on? Still the detailed coverage of Europe is great for the traveler. The use of the same standard legend for every map is wonderful and something not seen in other books of this type. The table at the front of the book showing each country's area and population, language and religion is extremely useful. It is a lot more convenient than looking it up in Wikipedia. The book is worth the price and very handy to have around.

Fantastic Book
I paired this with a Rand McNally Signature Map of the World for some serious study of geography. I wanted this book to drag around with me while I wait at the doctors, or just want to sit and brush up. Has everything you need to know and all those smaller details like the lesser seas, peninsulas, islands, straights, channels, mountains, mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, gulfs... just everything you want to be up on. This would be great for anyone who just wants to be smarter about the World we live in. It's a great learning tool and every house with children should have at least one copy. Seriously, educate yourselves and your children. I like to show my grandchildren where places are that are in the news, or just point out something I find interesting. It's like having a huge wall map in a book form. Everything is covered and I'm thrilled with it. Hate to get maps that are too generalized and don't name the seas and so forth and don't go into finer detail. The only thing I didn't see was the Sargasso Sea... but that's not a showstopper as everything else is on there! You will definitely get smarter than a Fifth Grader with this book...

A nice atlas,good detail
The atlas had a goodly amount of maps, but some parts of the world got a little short shrift from the publishers.A few more maps of the USA and Canada are in order,as well as the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean areas.Overall a decent reference book.

A Hard to Find item
I am going to enjoy this atlas. I am tired of getting out my huge paper world atlas. I need a table to spread it out and it easily tears. It is a pain. This new one is 12x9 in a paperback book and I can easily turn pages to the desired place. When I am reading I want to identify the country and familirize myself about the area. Using the map helps me to read with a better understanding. I used to dread the struggle with my paper map, and would often skip looking up the area I was interested in seeing. So, I began to search for an atlas in booklet form. None of the local stores had it. I found this "Collins World Atlas " at Amazon for less than $10. I have decided to put one in the Christmas package for my grown children who are readers. What a find!

One needs to have one such Atlas if you love travelling the world
Great Prints, but the soft cover is a dampner.

Easy size to manage for a hound boy.
A present for my Grandson to help him understand where all the different countries are located. A huge football fan and knows many of the worldwide teams but has no idea where they are located. I found it very useful as well as numerous countries have changed names since I was at school.

A great and light-weight Atlas
The maps are good and up to date, but I'm struggling with the tiny print both in the index and on the maps. I need to use a magnifying glass to actually be able to read it, even though my close-up vision is 20/20 without glasses.
