Comand Controller Knob, A2048700779 Multi-Switch Push Button Shaft Axle Pin Repair Kit Fits for Benz C Class W204 E Class W212 CLS GLK SLK ​Class

This is a common problem on this W204 generation of the Mercedes C-Class. This part is an exact replacement for the orignal plastic part in metal so it should last the lifetime of the car. I was able to get it fitted with the help of a YouTube video. There are plenty of such videos on YouTube so watch a few and you should get an idea of how to replace the part. Fitting mine with without a single hitch and even the top screw fitted pefrectly. A cheap fix and worth every penny.

Within an hour and following a YouTube video I had this item installed and my Mercedes media wheel working again. Great item and fit for purpose, would recommend!

Easy enough to strip down the comand module and get to replacing the broken shaft. Unfortunately for some reason this replacement part would not take the original screw which holds the turn knob on. This resulted in me having to source a similar screw, not easy considering the width needed. Happy enough low as it’s got my comand system back to 100%. Great fix, just logged as to why it didn’t take the original MB screw?

I liked the simplicity of the design. Why Mercedes didn't put a metal one in is beyond me. Tricky fiddly job but from start to finish took me an hour at home. Great fix and money saver

This is a better solution that the original Mercedes part - it is a straight swop out for the cheap plastic piece of tat that Mercedes fit to their cars. In the end very easy to replace if you follow the steps, there are lots of videos of how to do it, make sure you watch a few as they all have a slightly different approach, I did mine whilst sat in the car which took about 40 mins start to finish.

Ik heb een Mercedes E class uit 2009. Mijn knop van de command controller was defect gegaan. Na onderzoek op internet kwam ik erachter dat ik deze moest vervangen. Het is niet zo snel en makkelijk gedaan, maar met behulp van Youtube kan iedereen dit zelf vervangen. Stevig en goed product. Het past precies.

I have a E-class W212 -10. You have to take the whole assembly box apart to get to the placement of this part, and when i say the whole assembly I mean you have to remove even the circuit board. Damm the German engineers, they make a wonderful car but must always overcomplicate everything. At the end of the chasm i found the broken piece. My heart sank though the floor when i saw that the replacement piece looked nothing like the originale. But to my surprise it fitted perfectly, and after a even more tricky reassembly its now in working order.
