Update from previous review. Thing-a-majig that holds vegetable so that you can slice without cutting yourself is useless. It doesn't work with ginger and now it doesn't work with sweet green peppers or cucumbers. It doesn't grip and just slides off what it's trying to hold. I had to hold the and slice the vegetables in my hand and when it got to close to the blade I cut the remainder with a knife. Company offered a 40% discount on any of their other products but not interested in the small number of other products they offer. It's not a bad slicer but the vegetable gripper is a wast of time.

This is a simple mandoline, easy to use, easy to clean up and the blades fit nicely inside for storage;. Its sharp blades make quick work of veggie prep. The catch bowl is a good size and shape, and it has a non-slip ring on the bottom...no need to worry about your work and food flying off the counter!This mandoline would make a great and inexpensive gift for the new cook in your life.

It is easy to clean, has a container for food, and different options for cutting. That's good. The container is somewhat small, the slicing width is quite narrow, just a smidgen over 2.5," the gripper is worthless, not so good. I had a one function mandolin slicer before which broke after prolonged use. Even though it had no container and only one function I liked it much better, and you could adjust the thickness. I will keep this, but I would not buy it again.November 10. After months of owning this I find that I simply do not use it, when I reach for a slicer I opt to cut by hand because it is quicker and easier. It is better (for me) to have a simpler, basic slicer that is ready to use and does not need assembly etc. I have actually never used the other functions, only the slicer, and I have given up on it.

Not the best quality, but pretty good. I would recommend it if you need this kitchen tool but do not have a lot of money to spend.

Like the bowl to collect whatever it is I am cutting! Very sharp blades. Fast shipping. Came with multiple different blades for all my cutting needs.

Not very sturdy. Slicer only has one setting--very thin. I found slicing easier to do by hand.

The size of the food item that I can use with the grater is much smaller than I had anticipated.

Ohana Magic Mandoline is a welcome tool in my kitchen. It is easy to use, blades are easy to change and store in container. I especially like that there is a rubberized no-slip ring on base of container so that it stays firmly in place as you use it. It is great to be able to shred cheese or vegetables into a container, not all over the counter. And the slicing blade works nicely on cucumbers or cheese or potatoes (think microwave potato chips!). Great tool. Thanks to Ohana Magic Home for a practical and affordable item.
