Mindful Mandalas: A Mandala Coloring Book

A lot more meaning from Mandalas
With this book, I had a hard time deciding which pictures to color for my review. I have so many pages tagged, yet to be colored. As well as any other book that I've received from Papeterie Blue, this book did not disappoint, in design or statement. They have their finger on the pulse of the generation. I guess we would be the majority of this adult coloring phenomenon, generation X. I am proud to say that I am a gen X-er and proud to be part of this group of artists, whom color, draw, paint, etc. We are a talented group. And with that, please feel free to use ANY of the mediums, mentioned above. I have used markers, gels, pencils and watercolor pencils in the books, from Papeterie Bleu. I recommend a bleed page (always) with all mediums. Just a safety measure for the design behind it. This is because all books are single paged. The weight of the paper is good and does help the colors pop off the page and retain the colors you choose.A small draw back, easily solved, is that the pages are not perforated for removal from the book. But even with this small draw back, I would quickly and happily refer anyone to Papeterie Bleu coloring books. You get a range of meditative and humorous with some of their books. And meditative, stress free with some of their others. So, if you are looking for a witty book, a relaxing book or a book that has both elements...I recommend any of the books from Papeterie Bleu.**I received this book as part of a preferred reviewer program, for testing and a possible, unbiased review**

Great Coloring Book for Adults
I am really enjoying this coloring book! The illustrations are well done and fun to color . Each page has a quote on it to just kind of think about, but they're not heavy or over the top. The paper is a nice weight, and is black on the reverse side so that ink won't bleed through. My only complaint would be that the pages aren't perforated, so you have to leave the pages in the book, which can hinder coloring areas near the spine of the book.I'm looking forward to purchasing other books from this publisher, as I am really enjoying this one!

This is one of my favorite coloring books!
This was one of my favorite coloring books! The only problem I had with it was choosing a page to color, that is why I start from the beginning of the book to the end of the book. When I start skipping from around I feel so guilty that I tend not to finish the book. When you start from page one and color it you become excited when you turn the page to find the next design of your dreams to color and so on and so on till the end of the book.I loved this book and recommend this book to all that are looking for designs will make you relax and stress free.

Three Stars
Paper is too thin so that the pens bleed through it. But cute designs,

Mindful Mandalas combine mandalas with thoughtful quotes.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this book. I love that it combines mandalas (my favorite thing to color) and thoughtful quotes (another favorite of mine). Papeterie Bleu really knows what they are doing especially when it comes to mandalas!! Highly recommend. I received this book at a discount for an honest review.

Could not be more disappointed!
I read all the positive reviews regarding this book and purchased it. I don't know if the manufacturer decided to change the grade of paper being used since the other reviews but the paper in the book I received is neither bright white nor 60 lbs grade paper. I am VERY disappointed with this purchase. Even using Prismacolor pencils, I can see the grain of the paper behind the color...forget trying to get full coverage! Will never buy another book from Papeterie Bleu if the are all made with low-grade paper like this one!

Good!
Mainly, I bought this book to practice my colors (pallets, blending, pencil, marker, water color,...). It has offered many hours of coloring and I still haven't completed it. It has opened my eyes to a world of colors, though. I was never a fan of coloring books, in general, but I got tired of creating Black and Grey artworks. This book is full of creative mandella's that allow me to choose from mediums to color pallets. Most of the designs are nice but all in the same style and sometimes feel pasted together. More variety in the designs would be welcomed. My only throwbacks are that the black backing of each page will rub-off onto the next page if you press too hard with pencils. The pages allow markers to bleed through. However, that being said, the pages do stand up to some abuse. With pencils, I've been able to put many layers of colors (blending, burnishing,...) and there hasn't been any blow-throughs, or tearing. With markers, again, I've been able to lay down colors for shading and blending (alcohol markers), it doesn't bleed through but doesn't blow-through (a couple pages of printer paper placed under the working page was very helpful). Water colors worked well on the pages as well.

Designs are quite simple with no challenge
I use the product for relaxation. In this book I found the paper quality cheap, no perforations to remove the pages, the designs are simple and each page has what I consider trite sayings written on the bottom. This is not something I would bother coloring and keeping. In fact I may just throw the book away/

Not what you think
Designs are too simple and repetetive. The reverse of each page is also totally black and along with dark blotches or filled-in spaces, the joyful experience becomes somewhat of a chore.

Paper quality not fine
Paper quality is not good. Need to tear down to stop color from ruining other pages. Prints are ok, just wish If paper quality was good.

Good
Interesting, the back of each sheet is black, which is good so that the colors you draw won't spill on the next design.
