Delta Force 2-Operation Strang

This sequel to the 1986 classic features Chuck Norris at his best taking on a hilariously over the top Billy Drago pretending to be Pablo Escobar. Behind Invasion USA and Code of Silence, this is his best work and a must own for any Chuck Norris fan as it has all the shootouts, fight scenes and one liners you would hope for. Great to have it on Blu Ray finally.

This movie has truly a truly awful opening few minutes with grisly murders. I couldn't bear watching them. Then there are the odd things that happen that subtract from the movie's believability. For instance, when Cota is forced into the baggage hold of the airliner, using a hatch that is set in the floor of the first class section, McCoy then opens the external baggage hatch that is open to the atmosphere. As another reader pointed out, that would cause explosive decompression and cause an in-flight emergency. But nothing happens; the aircraft continues its journey with an open external hatch. Then there is the attack helicopter that General Taylor and his crew are using. It is way too small for an attack: it doesn't have much firepower, for one thing. There should be more gunners and missiles. There should be more attackers. That chopper is too small. Where is all that machine gun ammo coming from? The amount of shooting the two gunners do indicates they are using vast amounts of ammo. The same question applies to all those small missiles that get fired. There should have been medics and/or a doctor along the ride too, in case the attacking men are injured.Then you notice that within Cota's estate, at least some of the warning signs are printed in English, not Spanish as one would expect. "FLAMMABLE" in Spanish is "inflamable". I somehow doubt a drug lord from South America would have all signage in English. The original Delta Force movie was more authentic in this regard: signage (and graffitti) was in the expected local language, for example Arabic.Notice that even though General Taylor attacks a huge force of Cota's men, none of the Americans is even so much as scratched. Cota and his defenders seem powerless. In reality, such a small attack force would be wiped out or take significant casualties. 5 troops plus Colonel McCoy simply wouldn't stand a chance against dozens to hundreds of defenders.For me the biggest disappointment is that the movie only shows Colonel McCoy (Norris) in one brief fright with Cota's security chief. There should have been a few more fights, Bruce Lee or Yi Minh Li style. It was also a bit odd that during the fight scene, the security chief speaks in English: "Guards! Guards!" he screams, when McCoy is twisting his knife arm. Why didn't the security chief call for help in Spanish? Likewise, when Cota captures McCoy, he speaks in fluent English. But Cota does this with 4 or 5 of his own men close by. We infer that these men must be fluent in English also, if they are following Cota's discussion closely and carefully. But it seems unlikely they are. There is no reason for them to know English: they are just local toughs. So it is strange that Cota talks in English, which the others on his team do not understand.Overall, the movie simply lacks credibility. I don't have the background to know what "drug lords" are really like. I suspect very few people indeed do. Even an innocent like me can laugh at this movie for the many points that make no sense and cannot be believed.

If Chuck Norris were to travel to an alternate dimension in which there was another Chuck Norris and they both fought, they would both win.

For the Kino blu-ray...First of all, I'm glad to finally get this! This is old fashioned Chuck and probably the in the top 5 of his films. The technical aspects are "okay" and as a low-ish budget film from the era it's never going to be amazing but other films of similar caliber do look better. That being said for the price I expect better. I've seen the non US version and it's okay while this is a slightly better video presentation.If you want to own the sequel this is the one to get. Sadly a lot of these older action flick's are getting no love from studios and boutique labels are doing them instead. While this is a good thing the downside is the cost goes up and at times quality can be better which is true of the first one while this release is better than any other it's still not great.

hard to remember liking these action flicks from back in the day - I guess back then they seemed, well, action packed. But yes, helicopters that don't run out of fuel, guns that don't run out of bullets, lots of bullets and nothing gets hit, then, random spray of bullets and bad guys go flying everywhere even where there weren't any bullets. Bad corny acting. A general that is more like a giddy goof ball. Bad guy that just won't die until the end. and bad guys that can take a kicking and punching from Chuck Norris and keep coming back for more.

I was actually falling asleep during the latter half of action. FALLING ASLEEP! That should never happen in an action film with such a high-profile action star.Watch this film if you have nothing better to do otherwise there are much better action films.

I appreciate 16:9 video. Thanks for reformatting it for my television. I like the shooting; there is a lot. I like the punching and kicking. I like all the helicopters. This is like war. I am grateful for Amazon Prime Video recommending this and a half dozen others in an email that I got today. I have reached the point where I can get my next movie from the recommendations.

the other reviews have it right, bang boom the bad guys drop dead, our guys complete without a scratch including Chuck diving thru a plate glass window, but here is my review. in the last scene the Drug Lord brags he will get out of court again and send twice as much cocaine to the US, the US will be drowning in rivers of cocaine, and that is precisely what has happened since the early 1990s when this movie appeared. Now there is enough fentanyl to kill the entire US population several times over. 100,000 overdose deaths last year. If only winning the 'drug war' were as simple as sending Chuck and a Helicopter. No wonder Russia portrays the US as a country of drug addicts and homeless. Pardon the editorial but the bad guys are winning at what we used to call our southern border.

TOSHIBA製のブルーレイレコーダーは問題なく再生できましたが、SONY製は再生できるものと再生ができないものがありました。ドライブの問題で新しいものならば再生できるようです。ディスクは音声は英語のみ。英語字幕さえありません。英語に堪能でない初見の方は楽しむのが難しいかもしれません。ストーリーは単純明快で前作以下の相当なB級アクション映画です。デルタフォースのヘリがロケット弾や機関銃を乱射しながら麻薬マフィアの兵士のいる村に着陸するシーンはランボー２を彷彿とさせます。チャック・ノリスが大暴れする映画と割り切ればいいのではないでしょうか。
