The nibs are a little splitty. The tines open too easily, which causes splatter. I'm dinging it a star for that. The pen itself is great, and honestly, I just swapped in a different set of nibs. The wax seal is nice, especially since there are three wax sticks and they are each fairly large, and the spoon is a nice touch. I ususally just let the wax drip onto the paper, but using the spoon makes the flow more even. The ink is better than expected, given this looks kind of kitchy. It's actually a really good quality. Ultimately, you will want a seal of your own design if you get too far into this, but as a starter kit, this is perfect.Great for D&D fans, casual scadians, and stationary fans.

The pen nibs do not fit. The tip that comes in the pen fits fine but the extra tips aren't made to fit in the pen...they just fall out. Super sad to return it because I loved the wax stamp and spoon.

My teen daughter wanted a quill set for her birthday. This set is very fancy in a made-for-kids way and has everything you need to start writing fancy correspondence with your secret dalliances. The quill is nice but the feather is cheaply attached to the metal tip. It writes well and has been fun to use. The ink bottle is very small and it likely won’t last very long. It’s a bit messy but she’s still learning. The set also comes with wax and a stamp seal. The stamp has a bunch of cheapish bling. The stamp has Hogwarts on it in a nod to Harry Potter so I guess it would be best used to send a bunch of 11 year old kids fake invites to Hogwarts and build up their dreams only to quash them with reality.The set looks fancy but the quality is lacking. It’s great for some cosplay or teens but isn’t going to be a long lasting set.
