This book was a gift for my 50th birthday. My husband knows I love trees and poetry. This book is beautiful in every way - from Lita Judge's illustrations to the poems and scientific information about how trees interact with each other and create a better world for us all. I sat down this weekend with a cup of coffee.The day I first read it was perfect. It was a cloudy day, the kind you wait for when you are excited to read a new book. Although this is a picture book length, it is meant to be savored. I did not read it in one sitting, and I will definitely be reading it over and over through the years. I wish these moments for every person everywhere - a book you can't wait to read and an excitement stirring in your heart. This book is definitely one you want on your shelves if you love nature. I think people of all ages will love it!

I bought this book for a friend who is writing a children’s book about trees. I thought the book was beautiful and a great resource for how God has made such a wonderful supportive network in nature.

Well researched and written. Excellent information on how natural systems cooperate in ways that surprised all of us. A good antidote to mindless screen time if you can lure them away from TikTok, etc.

I love that this book is simple enough for young tree lovers to enjoy, but also includes fascinating facts for adults. Judge's words and pictures synergistically support a beautiful tribute to the secret life of trees. A favorite.

This book was fully immersive, and I learned so much! Gorgeous illustrations, a conversational tone, lovely poetry, and an incredible body of information. This was a legacy kind of work from a renowned author/illustrator. I have always loved trees, but now I am even more dazzled!
